Wondering if anyone can give me some guidance. I work as Financial Services Tax Staff currently (Senior in Oct) but i’m trying to possibly leave the big 4 after the promotion. I am interested in changing my path to Private Client Services but i’m not sure if that will be possible as most of my experience is Partnerships (Private Equity & Hedge Funds) Do you think I will have to start over in ranks to do this? What would you recommend?

Hello !! my PWD is in progress and im due for promotion this year (level IV to Level V) my designation would also change but not responsibilities. Will this affect my PWD or PERM process. J1 & J2 together make about 200k although there is no room for growth in either but WLB is amazing (< 10hrs per week). I’ve been considering to stop pursuing the CPA certification and instead wanted to focus around more IT driven certifications like CISSP. I already have my CISA. I’m just not as committed to the accounting world as I used to be making it hard to study and put my full effort into the CPA. So I worked from home yesterday and my husband had a sneak peak on my meetings with clients (which I’m very new to being a senior). He mention that I should read some sales pitch books of some sorts so I can get a process down and not be drain from having genuine conversations with every client. I think it’s a great idea. It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
