Won’t get employee match on 401k until next year I believe. Should I continue to contribute 15% or lower it and wait to contribute more when I get matched? Or does it matter? Hope to get some advice!

You only get so much tax advantaged space each year, use all of it you can!

this. there is more benefits to a 401k than just the match

OP - You should definitely start the habit of maxing your 401k NOW so that you get used to never seeing that money. If you wait, you're really going to miss that 15% once it gets taken out, which might make it harder to save.

OP - To C2's point, that 15% can definitely go to servicing other debt or building an emergency fund first. I'm just suggesting that you start taking that 15% out of your paycheck right away so you don't get used to it as expendable income.

I’d max your contribution if you can ... will help in the long run regardless of matching contribution

Contributing is never bad, but if you have debt, pay it off aggressively now, then fully get the match next year

I have no debt! So that’s why I contributed a lot to begin with

Why won’t you until next year? I just started at ACN as well

They said we’re eligible after one year of service on either Jan or July!

Not financially savvy (learning). I want to set aside $2500 a paycheck for a house down payment in 18-36 months. Does it make more sense for me to contribute the $2.5k to my 401k monthly and withdraw in 2 years, or just set aside $2.5k into a savings account? Already maxed ESPP. My end goal is to buy a house.

Beginner and trying to get my finances in order. Income: $200k+. Maxed out 401k for the year. I have $60k in my savings account (just paid student debt off this year). I’ve searched the bowl… Are next steps: (a) invest (maybe $30k?) in ETFs and add to it each month, (b) open a HYS at HMBradley to hopefully get a high interest next quarter? I’m not convinced about the mega back door Roth (whether it makes sense for my situation) so putting in only a small amount there. Any thoughts? TIA!

2nd year associate here (going into my third). Will have about 114k in student loan debt at the turn of the year. I have roughly 60k in my investment account, 45k in 401k and an adequate balance in my emergency fund. I also contribute to my HSA and will cross the threshold for investing that in January. During 0% on student loans i have been using every spare dine to pay that down. My question is should that continue or should I tone that back and start investing more? Cont’d in comments...

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio. I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m. Thanks!

Is it normal for you to ever be “ghosted” by your administration? I feel like I’m constantly emailing, calling, texting, and meeting with them and nothing gets done. This is at a district where I travel between 3 schools and have 3 principals. They’re all like this and communication is especially important since I have to travel.

TLDR; I have 3+ years of experience, 1 year at a small consulting shop and 1.5 years at B4 upon graduation. Is it true that none of this experience really counts?
