Anyone in the community working at Alvarez and Marsal in London who would be open to chat and maybe referral?
Currently a manager at UK Big4 in AAS/FAAS/CMAAS. Don’t mind the technical side of the house, but really enjoy the deals and high data side of the jobs when working with FDD. Based on the business, TAG might be the ‘easiest’ to transfer most of my skills, but open for insights from the other service lines.
Looking for a quality mid weight jacket; tailored fit; blazer-esque cut maybe shorter; smart casual; maybe wool; for semi daily wear
I have an offer from JIO and BottomLine.
Which one is better and recommend to join.
Can anyone suggest on it?
Has anyone changed service line? I am contemplating about leaving FSO for national but don't know where to start. Currently staff 2.
Hi Fishes, I got an opportunity with HashedIn by Deloitte. With 7 year of experience as an quality engineer they are offering me 18.5 LPA ( 15.5 fix + rest variable) ?? Should I join the same . So I'm new to IT field and got only 1 year experience in automation testing using Tosca, I got training in java and selenium and I studied selenium myself in free time to learn more in testing, I'm thinking to make a switch next year. How much of a pay raise should I expect? And can I get referrals for QA engineers from companies like Accenture or TCS or other big tech companies? I'm a newbie so it'll be helpful if someone could guide me thanks
Has anyone used a tech consultant or an outside tech provider that helps you set up your firm or serves as an outside IT department? This may just be my wishful thinking, but would love if I could find someone to fill this role for my firm.
Thoughts on black tie highland dress. My mother’s side has its own tartan. Could I get away with a kilt and Prince Charlie jacket at a black tie event? I’m tempted, but it might be too much.
Does anyone have any recommendations on advanced books or other resources to learn about investing ? I’m looking for something much more in depth than what I have already read which usually just explains how to eliminate debt and what dollar cost averaging is. (No debt and already dca)
Hey there, currently a 1LT IN officer with a TS transitioning in early 2023. Looking for a consulting internship this fall in Boston that I can use to transition to consulting full time. Any recommendations on programs/companies I should be looking at. Thanks!
Anyone ever freelanced to make a website? I’m a mid-level CW, and I think it’d be smarter to price by the project in this case, rather than hourly. What’s normal to charge for writing a ~5 pg site?
Is it even possible to get HSW with a low GPA (3.3-3.5 range) if you’re an ORM guy? Even if you went to top 20 undergrad, top GMAT (780-800), good work experience (top consulting firms+FAANG)?
Hi all, I’m trying to understand Google compensation a bit better.
1) How normal is it to hit your bonus target?
2) How do annual compensation adjustments work? Base salary increase? Equity refreshes at certain percentage of salary?
Have a coworker who volunteers for work but never ends up doing it. At what point does it make sense to go to the partner to address this? We’re both midlevels, and I’m tired of having to put in even more time every weekend to pick up his slack. If this were a junior, I’d address it with them first, but this is unacceptable from a fifth/sixth year.
I’m in talks with management about being a candidate for a new position, Project Manager. This would be a promotion for me; however, a member of my team indicated the company may not want to increase compensation for this role even though I would have more responsibilities. It was even stated that “They may even want to fire people who asked for more money.” I am staggered. Do you advice for me? Should I look elsewhere? Any referrals? Any insight/assistance appreciated.
Do your house cleaners use products that smell strongly? I asked mine to not use bleach which is better but man it’s all still so powerful. We open all the windows and have the kids out of the house when she is here at least…
Current bank balance 😭
Does anyone have any insight into the culture/WLB at Cloud for Good? And what do you think of their consultant analyst apprenticeship program? It seems like a good program for a new admin but the pay seems low ($50-55k).

Anyone have insight into how long Avanade/Accenture background checks take? (Assuming both use First Advantage). My checks have said Completed for 2 days now but the summary view still says they’re all In Review and not seen by the company yet.

Does ZS Associates only have roles that are in office, in very specific locations?
For example, seems like they don't have any roles in Texas.

I’ve been with Accenture for 10 years and starting to get a few bites outside. Do you still wear suits to a interview or zoom call or is business casual ok? Years ago it was always suits but not sure about 2020. Not an executive role.
Thanks and have a great thirsty Thursday!

Deloitte what is year 1 senior consultant total comp broken out? Am I looking at $160k? Role would be in tech consulting. Thanks!
"Congrats on your 5- year work anniversary... here's $100!" I know it's better than nothing, but that 70 bucks after taxes doesn't seem like much more than a pat on the back for lasting 5 years 😒
I want to throw up in my mouth a little bit every time someone adds the word "Right?" to the end of their sentence.
Alvarez & Marsal Current T2 Director, came from KPMG a couple years back. Have an opportunity to go back to B4 (not KPMG) for direct entry MD (still non-equity). TC would be equivalent, but higher base and a more predictable wlb. Anyone here that has been a T2 and B4 partner, can you help me identify the pros and cons of each? Ditto...kind of :) I woke up to the alarm that tells me I should be getting in my Uber...so the thanks are due to packing and laying out clothes the night before and having exactly a fifteen minute window on my airport timing...should still have 2 min to buy a bottle of water :)
