Work at an in-house agency for a huge company. I’m a contract worker, and I get paid $50 an hour, equaling about 100k+ per year. They want to bring me on full time, should I expect them to match that?

Not if you want any basic benefits like healthcare.

Theyre offering you staff because they realize theres enough regular work youre good at to keep you busy every day, and they also want to pay you less. The benefits really are not worth that much though. You can buy your own insurance fairly cheap, and start a Roth IRA. You'll also probably lose overtime pay going salary, so they'll pressure you to work more hours. I'd put benefits around $17,000/yr, (depending on paid vacation) dont take more of a cut than that. Remember, theyre offering you a job to benefit the company, not you.
As soon as you hear the word "job stability" in a negotiation, it's 1) an acknowledgement there's a huge pay cut, and 2) a subtle intimidation, saying "take the staff paycut or we'll unbook you".

I’ve been contracting for them through a staffing agency that provides decent healthcare for about $175 a month. They also provide me with a W2. The company only hired me as a contractor because there was a hiring freeze in the beginning of the year and they “didn’t want to lose me.” The full time salary they told me about before hiring me as a contractor was around 80K. I also don’t have to worry about overtime, because the company is HUGE on work life balance. Everyone leaves at 5.

like

Consider the cost of good benefits ranges around $15-25 K. Plus, the company will now be paying a portion of your taxes. That is unless you’re receiving a W2 as a freelancer. So you are likely looking at about $20-30k less in a salary. You can negotiate to bring the number up. Clearly, they want to hire you, so you have the advantage in negotiation.

Take it. That's a pretty standard salary for mid-level designer.

What’s with all the negative nancies out here? Try to get them to match and see what happens. Esp if you already have healthcare now. Also if you’re working with them through a staffing agency— your company is probably paying the agency 3x your hourly rate. They can afford to bring you on at 100k

like

80k with work/life balance? TAKE THE DEAL.

like

If you are placed there through a placement agency like Aquent, yes you should expect the same rate. Those placement agencies take a 40% cut. So your $50/hr is actually costing the company you are working for about $82/hr. If you go FT at your current 100k, you still save them a bunch of money even after a the benefits. They will, however, be to pay the placement company a head hunter fee of like 10-20% of your salary. So it is not a huge savings for the first year

like

No, contractor hourly rate never covers benefits you will receive as a full-time employee (which is paid by the company) such as healthcare, paid time off for vacation/federal holidays, matching 401K, and other perks.

AT LEAST that

I have an offer from a reputed bank in the UK and for the banks, it’s essential to get a security/vetting clearance before they issue CoS. I’m currently waiting for vetting clearance outcome.

Not sure if this is a requirement for BIG4 offers too. But if anybody has an idea, can you please tell me how much time does it take before we get the clearance?

My current role started out as a way to increase my skills, but for the past year the majority of what I’ve done is transcribing data between systems, which is one of the things I’m very bad at. My brain switches letters/numbers. With some recent changes, all other responsibilities were removed. I had a good reputation in the company before this, but now every day I feel like a failure because I keep making mistakes.
