What’s the weather like in the US

depends on your a million factors. your industry, your location, your client, etc. just like where yr at at Deloitte i’m sure. it’s circumstantial.

the work environments i’ve experienced at pwc are everything from : you need to stay at your desk at least looking like you’re working hard all day every day and then also go out binge drinking with the partner to prove your commitment on at least a bi-weekly basis. to: let’s work virtual and share knowledge when useful and if you need to disappear for a few hours during the day for undefined personal reasons, that’s fine just get your work done. and everything in between.

it’s all as unpredictable as the rest of the big 4.

I’m prior Deloitte. It feels like everything is more efficient, the culture is better, and while you do put in time to work it is not like the crazy stuff Deloitte required. I’ll be happy to refer.

I find these questions odd…can you describe the work environment at Deloitte for all 60,000+ people? It’s project and people dependent. Can you at least narrow down your question to maybe a specific team or “department”? Maybe they can give high level answers with “but it depends”

Overall culture is much better than other Big 4s. Empathy, teaming, with life balance and collaboration are my favorites.

I do really like the folks I work with and I feel like its reciprocated.

Moving to NYC for work and looking for places. Deciding whether I should live with random roommates or shell out an extra couple hundred a month on a studio/1BR. With COVID getting worse and winter coming, I see it both ways: I may appreciate having other people to live/interact with but I also appreciate a space completely to myself where I'm completely comfortable considering I may have to spend a lot of time at home (I will be WFH most days). Anyone have a perspective? Has covid changed it?
