Work life balance is a fancy term used by recruiters in India in IT services sector, in a still developing economy like India it befalls on our generation to bring business provide uniterrupted services to clients sitting in developed world.
Unless the roles are reveresed and India wants similar IT services by giving hefty billing on our own timezone the term WLB is like expecting snowfall in Delhi.
For IT service people WLB is a state of mind when one has established oneself into the process.

Anyone work for a bank with good work life balance? Wondering if it’s just the industry that requires a lot of hours

my husband and i got married thirteen months ago. i make more than him and also have a side hustle that takes around 5-10 hours a week depending on the business. This week is leading closer to a 10-15 hour week along with an out of town gig. But I’ll be bringing in almost my entire two weeks with this work. All that to say, this week is a busy one and we’re having company over this weekend. So we need to clean the house. My husband told me he talked to his mom earlier while he 1/2

For those WFH employees I would love to hear your schedule. I have to log a minimum of a 40 hour work week (1 hour for lunch is not included) so I want to know how you spend your work days so you can also do the personal stuff that matters to you.

6:30 a.m. - Wake up, breakfast & journal
8 a.m. - Log into agency job; prioritize focused tasks because I’m more creative & mentally with it early in the day
12 p.m. - Lunch
1- 5 p.m. - Continue doing agency work
5:30 - yoga or side hustle

If you don’t want to stay with your current firm for another busy season, then now it’s the time to apply at a new company. Generally speaking, BDO’s wlb is not as bad as Big four. Happy to help with referral to BDO.

I finally did it. I quit and turned in my resignation in June. I’m now have been working from home for United Health Care. I wished I would have done this years ago. I started teaching right out of college 20 years ago and thought all jobs were as bad as teaching I was so wrong. My new job is not stressful I now have a normal life and look forward to going to work.

If I was bad at audit and didn’t enjoy the work at all but love industry due to the technical accounting aspect would I enjoy accounting advisory? Been at my company for almost a year now and the tasks are mind numbing and repetitive and I do not feel like I’m learning anything. I have a 5.3y work ex with ACN, as a FSCM consultant (L10 currently, was assured of a L9 effective March, but declined due to growing poor culture within ACN).
Got an offer from PwC India
Current TC: 9.5 LPA.
PwC Offered TC: 19 LPA.
IBM Offered Fixed: 17 LPA
IBM would be a smooth drive, but skeptical to join PwC given the WLB issues, as a lot of folks say.
