Worked 7am - 8pm every day the past couple of weeks. Is this normal, good or bad?

Is your project awesome and ending sometime? Then it’s great! If what you’re making sucks, it’s bad. It’s always what you’re making, IMO.

We need a union.

Not normal, whether it’s good or bad depends on the project. Either way it shouldn’t be permanent

yeah thanks this is a really good way of looking at it, thank you.

working on some pretty fun stuff so i'm not mad. it's just starting to take it's toll.

Yeah you’re gonna need to set boundaries, otherwise you’re gonna be doing this a lot more than necessary

We’re more of 9am - 10pm people here.

Both normal and unnormal. At least for me.

I work in-house and while work/life is usually great (9am-6pm and hardly ever weekend work), there are those weeks when we get into a HUGE production that warrant those hours. I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and push through and take a few days off after.

If there’s a light and you dig the work, keep going. If it’s 7am-8pm for the sake of it, set boundaries. Constant 12+ hour days for busy work is bad management. They’re burning you out for nothing.

Hi everyone! I got the counter offer, they raised the base salary from 54k to 55k despite me asking for 60k. They said its final.
(I am currently only making 50k a year)

I have only been working in my current company for less than a year.. do you think it is fair for me to bring this to my manager and see if they can match it? If i can get more money from my current company that would be ideal but not sure if my manager will be happy about it.

Needing some input..

I need a bit of advice. I am in the process of converting from contract to full time and messaged the hiring manager asking to negotiate for a 7% increase on top of the initial pay increase i’d be getting once converted to full time. After a bit of back and forth chatting about why I felt this was necessary, they just stop and it’s been a few hours now… am I overreacting? or should I wait until next week? I was hoping they’d at least let me know they are talking to HR or are busy.

Not a question - but a rant. WHY ARE AD CONTEST ENTRIES SO EXPENSIVE? As a pretty new creative with a pretty small paycheck, I don't understand why so many award competitions cost so much money... the NACs are $200 this year, and that's supposedly half off regular price?! Ok rant over, just needed to complain.

I was hired at this young shop & told I'd be working on full campaigns, experiential, OOH, commercials. 8 months in & I'm only doing social. Will this stop me from getting into legacy agencies?

What is the career path or progression once you’ve gone in-house? If it doesn’t work out do you go in-house somewhere else or try to make it back into the agency game?
