Working all day Sunday after a long week because partner promised client an F-1 draft that I had 3 days to complete with a full additional workload since we’ve lost all except one other mid/senior. Not Big Law so not being paid close to market and did not receive a promised bonus for Q1. Not happy.

Hey fishies, I’m having a crisis. My total comp at my current job is 190k. However, I’m bored out of my skull and my boss has made it clear there’s no chance of promotion. I committed to Fuqua (with a 120k scholarship) to transition to more interesting work (strategy). Am I being foolish or is more interesting work in the long run worth the pay cut for a few years?

How do you determine you hourly rate for freelancing? I recently got a huge salary boost. Old coworker is asking if I can do 8-10 hours a week for couple months to help his new company get off the ground w some products. If I were to take my salary into consideration, I’d ask for around $100 an hour. I used to think freelance should be more than my salary calculated hourly. But I think my old coworker and his new boss would scoff at $100 bucks an hour, they’re probably thinking $30-40

Having an Interview this week, and don't know how high I should set my salary expectations. I currently earn 24k/annum base + comission. Would it be unreasonable to say that I have 30k + comission atm? I think it also hardly depends on the location, I am currently working from Poand but would be working for a swiss company.

Any tips for helping to get operations work recognized? I’m officially in ops but cover programs, business, and catch-all organizational needs. In the last year we rebranded and scaled 500% (staff, program offerings, funding) and I was the sole employee covering organizational ops at 100% during that time. I believe that I am being blocked from my transfer even though my manager approves it on paper. Is there any way I can find this out. I would love to quit practicing law some day and be a professor at a law school. This was sort of a long term goal, but my alma mater posted an entry-level tenure-track position that I would love. Received an offer from Firm X but not in preferred location. Firm Y recently reached out to express interest in interviewing me and asked me to keep them in the loop of where I am in the process. Should I let firm Y know about the offer or would it back fire? If so, how to word it nicely?
