Hi Everyone! I’m wondering if any consulting firms are actively hiring right now? I’ve decided I want to leave my current company in search of more opportunity. Particularly because it seems as though my promised promotion will be indefinitely cancelled due to COVID (@hiring freeze). Would appreciate advice / tips and if graciously offered, referrals!
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
Things you shouldn’t say when asking for a raise : -I don’t want to live in a walk up any more. -I don’t want room mates. -I asked around and I should be making more. -I don’t cook and only eat out.
Currently pregnant with baby 2 and a start-up which I was really keen on about 9 months ago came back around to offer me a position. I am about 4.5 months away from leave with my current firm. Am terribly nervous about accepting an getting more even half of the leave I could have gotten before. To top it all off they are offering 50% salary until they raise their target (about 30% to their goal right now). This position is in my dream field and a great fit for me, but the timing couldn’t be wors
Any special promotion days for seniors at ey? Currently staff 2. Does ey fly you out somewhere or just gives you a title
95% +Utilization, got a 4 of 5. (no raise, no bonus). I was benched last year due to awaiting my clearance (missed utilization) and got a 3 of 5 with a raise and bonus.
Is a year too soon to ask for a raise? If you've made a handful of things, some of them pretty cool, including a 360 campaign? Also...forgive my inexperience, but who do I ask about a raise?
Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
If you started working at a company for like a year as a staff level, for example 2019-present, and this is reflected on LinkedIn, do you guys update any promotions to show it as (the date or year of promotion) -present... or just show it as 2019-present? I’ve seen people do the latter more but is that even right?
Google offered me a base not much higher than my current and 150 in equity. Would have to move sf area so wanted a higher raise to adjust for cost of living. Will try to negotiate but hear they...
Does anyone know if Starwood does a global promotion for the Fall? If so when does it usually start?
What are the ladies wearing to promotion day tomorrow? Want to be casually dressed for a celebration but still work appropriate
What are your thoughts on this article? I was confused by how an earnest request of how to deal with money matters turned into a "you are sexist and part of the problem" epithet. Interested to hear if others agree or disagree with the approach taken in this article and what I might be missing. https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/my-girlfriend-makes-twice-what-i-earn-i-reluctantly-paid-the-200-dinner-check-for-her-first-promotion-she-just-got-another-one-should-i-pay-again-11627260385
Any ideas on how much raise I can expect on promotion to Manager? Currently make 122K as senior.
Anyone else feeling the COVID19 come up? I got a promotion, lost 15 lbs, and started a small business. God is good. Not bragging just trying to put some positivity out there.
How is the FinCrime practice of Guidehouse? Is it worth switching from EY to Guidehouse for pay raise?
Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!
I am a L10 working in the SAP space within CDO at Accenture. I have been at the firm for a little over 7 months and would like to know come the next promotion cycle how I could switch from CDO to C&M.
Have a follow up call with a firm that put my offer on hold due to Covid, what are questions you would ask?
Now that a vaccine is here the reality of going back to the classroom is getting closer to become a reality. I am wondering about how we can help the students begin to practice self management skills now before going back to the classroom. What are some things we can practice virtually that will be used in the classroom?
Netlink is hiring for below positions, let me know if you need referral Location: Pune, Chennai, Bhopal
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
Is there a hard limit on how frequent you can apply in a year at FAANG? (For instance: Amazon, Google) Also, how many positions are we allowed to apply? There are just many positions at different teams right.
MBA folks: how much did you spend each year? Excluding rent and tuition; including dining, travel, leisure?
MBA worth it you went to T1 undergrad and don't want to switch industries? Additional context: 4 YOE at T2/T3 firm. Think an MBA could be useful since I don't have business/finance background and at some point want to move in house for an investment firm. If I were to get an MBA, it'd be state school (T50). Concerned if I don't go back now, I'll never go back.
When you get back to the office after 9 days away, have that vacation glow, and the first thing your PM says to you is, “welcome back, this week is going to suuuuuck!!”
Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
My project is requiring a lot of time commitment during early hours and evening and it’s getting hard to pick up LO from day care. I wanted advise frm ppl who have hired help for pick/drop off.
New hire question - if I didn't submit expenses before that expense cut off date is there any bad consequence?
I was just offered a promotion to Sr Strategy Analyst and I’d like to negotiate the base comp from $109 to $116 at least. I would love to hear how others have navigated this conversation. My points are: 1. I have both supply- and demand- side experience. 2. I have a proven record of dedication to the company w/ examples. (This is a leadership rotational program so it shows I’m invested in the company.) 3. I didn’t rec a raise in 2020 bc Covid so at a normal rate I would be making ...
Hello People, I need a help. I have accepted an offer from big 4. Now i want revise the offer from 10 LPA to 12 LPA. Is there any way to do so without having a counter offer. As i am feared about losing it I don't want to counter but instead just want to win by words. Would highly appreciate any help from you all.
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
Please post any good chair recommendations for home office ! My back is killing me !! Also, GAMING CHAIR VS. OFFICE CHAIR ?!?
A white friend is looking to buy an apartment. One apartment is in an older building in an established neighborhood. It doesn't have an in-unit washer/dryer. The other apartment is in a brand new building in a historically black neighborhood that has seen a lot of gentrification but it's still near a project with a gym, a nice roofdeck with a grill and in-unit washer dryer and costs $100k less. She's considering the first place despite it being more expensive and older. Racism is expensive.
