This merger blows. SPG had a legit no blackout policy but Marriott says they do no blackout but they have inventory control which is essentially the same shit. Such deceptive tactic. 😡😡

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

Travelling to SFO for next 6 months. Client in San Jose. What nature places can I explore after work? I can leave early and have a car. Anyone else in the Sam's boat?

Anything "extra" you get booking car rentals through Trips vs. through Avis app? I'm doing a weekly rental with different pick up and drop off next week and it seems to be like $100 cheaper on Avis.

Hello! I have a Marriott free room voucher expiring in June worth 35k points. I would like to sell it. The card I get it from is 95$ per year so I would take that if it sounds fair.

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

It's always tough, but this year it has felt impossible to stay on top of grading. Sure, there are online quizzes the computer can grade for you, but that data is so limited. What about the steps they took to get that answer on the math problem? I need to see it to know what they missed... Between submission of blurry photos and going through the process of uploading, downloading, and squinting to see their work, it takes me 20x longer to grade work for my digital kids. #thestruggle
