Working in Europe temporarily. Have an option to do Executive MBA, it’s around 70-90k Euros for an year. Another option I have is doing part time PhD in Management. It’s around 35-40k Euros for 4 years. Any thoughts on which one would be more useful? Currently work in a T2 in their digital practice. Had plans of shifting to MBB 3-4 years back but lost interest after

Useful for what? Tbh neither seems very useful to advance your career in consulting or the business world. The PhD can help you become a prof or write a management book

like

That’s what I am thinking, but thought it wouldn’t hurt to get more opinions

Wow, these almost feel like US tuition costs. And you have to pay for the PhD?

like

A PhD that you have to pay for doesn’t bode well for the reputation of that program

What do you want to be doing 10 years from now?

Then neither sounds a great idea - I’m UK based and I’ve only ever seen one or two partners with anything more than a degree and a professional qualification

Are you planning to go back to the USA? MBA could be useful depending on your company, but not always necessary. You should check how many partners there do/do not have MBAs

Also HR said that I can work from Anywhere so it means I need not relocate. Is this true?
Any clarity would be appreciated!

I took the role I am in about a year ago and it just has not been what was promised and a huge step back. I have found a good place and am content but not overly happy with my place in the company. A smaller competitor reached out for a vp position that is a huge step up responsibility wise. There would be a pay raise but not huge so money is not the motivator here. Is this crazy to seriously consider? I hate to burn bridges. I have been told I am on the partner fast track. Thoughts? Advice?

We sent wedding invites with a 5pm start time because we have 6hrs at the venue and the bar around the corner said the after party had to be 11pm-1am. Now bar said thee after party can start at 10pm. We can realistically contact all who RSVPd yes to let them know AND a 4pm start time means we still have daylight (it’s a winter wedding).
