Working in the DC area. I’m eligible for TRICARE benefits as a military retiree. I’ve currently got the barebones insurance through my employer which effectively pays nothing before a massive annual deductible. Any thoughts or experiences about dropping employer-based insurance and going with TRICARE exclusively? I’m also in a geographic region where we can sign up for US Family Health Plan (TRICARE Prime-like coverage through civilian providers).

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? Just found out my raise for the year and it’s an increase of 5.6%. It is the raise I would’ve received last year, but then that was halted due to covid and no one got raises. I’m the most senior associate and have been told I’m on partner track, but I think the raise should’ve been higher and am pissed, but I’m also grateful to still have a job with covid. What raises have you gotten and how has covid impacted your compensation? I’m in a mid size insurance defense firm in the PNW.

HR question. When switching companies and the new company has a 30 day waiting period before health insurance starts, how do y'all handle insurance coverage? Cobra wouldn't be an option as resigning doesn't qualify.

My Dad (USMA grad from 70's) is outright "old school" and doesn't equate women to men. As a mom to a daughter and decorated combat vet, this kills me when he makes sexist comments. My sister (legal VP in her co) and I tend to ignore it as it's exhausting to correct every time. But when it comes out, it irritates the crap out of me. My husband, (5 yrs at the 75th) will disagree when my dad thinks he can turn to him for support. What have you seen that gets through to people? just let it go?
