US family health plan - that's the one through John's Hopkins right? If so it was a great plan. Awesome doctors and lots of specialist available. The prescriptions could get pricey and the biggest downside was we had to go to their medical center which was kind of a hike from where we lived.
I'm currently on TriCare reserve select and been really happy with it. Deloitte would have been $800 a month for a high deductable, whereas I pay $240 for pretty good coverage.
In your shoes I would probably go with the TriCare retired, but I would def take a look at the prescriptions coverage.
I have friends that are on TRICARE and they swear by it. Also note that if you have employer insurance and go to a TRICARE facility, you'll be billed for it. Happened to me once after going to a doctor's appointment at the VA.
Tricare prime is good. My Deloitte insurance is better, but comes at a premium. Depends on family and health situations
Tricare is so much better than pwc’s health plan (don’t know how that compares to Deloitte). Been very happy with Tricare reserve select so as long as your doctor is in network for tricare or you’re willing to switch then do it and don’t look back. Only reason not to would be if you want to use an HSA for savings and don’t expect to have any medical bills, then high deductible would make more sense.
All big 4’s insurances are trash lol

I’m on JH USFHP in northern VA and swear by it, still go to Belvoir ER though because fuck $90 copays foe that shit
It’s not bad, but it’s pretty painful sometimes. Do you have any VA disability? If so, pending on the % you may be elegible for a lower rate and higher coverage
If you have 100% disability you’re entitled to lower medical rates and pending on the issue it’s 0 cost associated w insurance. I suggest to call the VA office and inquire. In some instances the VA serves as your medical insurance. Granted, it may be painful and full of red tape. But it’s an option
