Debating between purchasing a house in Powder Springs vs Woodstock area. We are very much inclined towards diversity which includes some desi crowd as well. Opinions about these two areas will be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Bi folks... do you experience lean towards different gender at different times of your life?
I’m a partner at a small firm looking to lateral. Many firms that were beyond my reach a year ago are now eager to pick me up. Firms that I should be selling myself to are instead selling their firm to me. (And I am a very confident person; no imposter syndrome here.) Is there some larger diversity push going on? Is it hard for bigger firms to retain female partners? Curious what the market is.
I can't wait to hear the feedback on this one: Deloitte is nixing employee affinity groups for women and minorities—fixtures at many large companies—and replacing them with inclusion councils that have white men. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-19/deloitte-thinks-diversity-groups-are-pass
I have an outlook folder named 'crap’ to auto route useless communications from certain people/ groups. That list is now 20+. I guess it’s time to create ‘crap 2’ for diversity

Advise on handling rates negotiations with BIPOC and non-male creators? I always want to accept first bid and get uncomfortable when my bosses push to undercut rates (especially now when money is tight), because there is a whole history of BIPOC and non-male people getting paid less. I’ve tried to push back but struggle to articulate this to them. (For the record, I’m POC female and my bosses are white males, and race/gender convos are already very difficult with them.)
The best private school (best on ranking) in my area is an all girls school (K-12). What’s the pros/cons of sending my daughter to an all girls school? My wife and I both grew up outside of the US and have not experienced single gender schools. Looking for any thoughts /personal experiences. Thanks!
Difference between female vs male leadership is based on gender bias. I'm labeled "aggressive, stubborn, and difficult to work with" by male peers, while they're praised as decisive and direct. WTF 😡
Thinking about buying a home in the next couple of years either around the Chicago area or suburbs with access to the city. What’s the best neighborhood for a number of factors such as- diversity, safetiness, property value, school rankings, overall funness? I’m a South Asian man married to a White woman, so the location diversity does matter to me when raising kids. Thank you for all your help!
Best consulting firms for real inclusion?
When it comes to recruiting, is it good for the industry when the first word out of HR is "diversity" and not "talent?"
Best city for a single 28-year old? I keep seeing these in hopes I could take some advice from other people’s posts. I’m hoping to move within the next few years. I live in PNW and would prefer warmer weather and a larger city with diversity. Cost of living isn’t an issue - I’ll pay more to love where I live.
🐠 who live or have lived in Chicago - how was your experience when it came to friendliness, diversity/racism, and access to Asian foods and grocery stores? I’m considering relocating to the South loop neighborhood - single person in their 30s, not interested in suburbia life
With all of the rhetoric around Diversity in consulting, can someone explain why 13 or 14 out of 14 newly promoted Managing Directors in KPMG Advisory are white men? Also, how long until someone from upper management flags this post to keep everything silent?
Do NOT claim you are "colorblind" in the workplace. 1. DE&I knowledge is now a core leadership competency. Colorblind claims will earn you the reputation of being DEI-ignorant at best & racist at worst. 2. Colorblindness within the context of workplace diversity is an obvious lie. You do NOT want to be painted as an intellectually dishonest leader. 3. Colorblind claims signal that you lack the leadership skills & vocabulary to have key conversations. Ask questions here, in this safe space.
One of my favorite things about consulting is county of origin diversity. Can we do a quick poll here of various CoO represented. Put your flag and have the fellow nationals upvote!
How would you make the business case for adding more diversity to the workforce. I think we take it as a given that people will support this, but some people need to see $$ and #s to be moved.
Anybody else tired of working from home/remote?
Hi everyone! I’m a young CPA, relocating to Raleigh. I made the decision to transition into sales after realizing that I want to bring more fun into my career. I’m currently reading sales books, watching Keenan’s YouTube channel, and learning all I can. I’m relentlessly applying for SDR positions but I’m having trouble landing interviews (been applying through LinkedIn). I would appreciate advice from anyone who transitioned from another industry into sales. How did you break the barrier?
Coronavirus is still lurking behind the scenes. News reports are so vague. They Don't even break it down by state?
Was talking to this girl ( arranged marriage ) over the past couple of months(jun-sep) and things were progressing towards in the correct direction. During our inital conversion in the early stages, I had mentioned everything about my status (h1b. with early stages of perm,i-140 stage) and told her how she won't be able to get EAD immediately after coming the US) All of sudden she said(oct) she now does not want to come to the US as my status does not allow her to work immediately in the US.
Replying All to an obvious mistake email should automatically make you ineligible for promotion.
EY leadership has no boundaries. My husband is working in a project where they are in critical phase of testing and delivery of the system. His leadership calls him at 6am in the morning for status updates when they know for sure that he was up till 2/3 am working. I am asking him to put foot down but it seems he is the only one with the required knowledge. Venting ends. Thanks for hearing me out.
Damn ATL back at it again with the sexy weather
On getting into FAANG. For those who made the switch, what are the typical roles from, say, MBB? How did you go about it? What's needed on the resume if I'm planning 12 months out? Lvl and pay?
Does anyone bring up unvested RSUs during comp conversations for new roles? How much success has that had? I feel like the golden handcuffs are too strong otherwise.
What is work life balance like at Alverez and Marsal? Specifically for transaction advisory/financial due dilligence
Anyone ever notice how similar Agency life is to working at a restaurant? Spent 10 years in that industry as a kid, and the pacing and vibe of agency production feels EXACTLY the same.
What is the % raise for a Tier 3 in Tax?
What % of your 401K contribution does your employer match? Trying to get some benchmarking ideas, thanks
Have you ever considered your hourly wage? Saw many posts of people making boatloads of money but it obviously comes from 60-80 hour weeks. If I look at a $300K salary for 80 hours is like 2 jobs.
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
Thoughts on GE Healthcare? GE Healthcare appears to be expanding rapidly and recruiting aggressively. Their impending IPO looks to paint a promising future.
Ladies I have been reflecting on something that's been bothering me a lot. Women are not getting promoted to manager fast enough. I am up for promotion this year and it feels hard to get your name out
How should I start a conversation with my boss about a promotion? What things should I bring up as evidence that I'm not only consistently hitting - but surpassing - my performance goals and targets?
