Are you involved with your local theater group? Even if being on stage isn't the type of acting you want to do in the long-run, it's a good place to get some experience. Plus, folks in those groups often know all about local casting calls and auditions, so it's a good spot to build your network.
The value of networking cannot be overstated in this industry.

I was just going to suggest this. In one of my groups people are ALWAYS posting this kind of stuff.
If you have any special skills like military experience, singing, dancing, archery, martial arts, rollerskating, etc, you can apply for special roles that would advance career much more than regular acting roles. I got to sing with a lead character on a recent Netflix show despite only having background experience in the past. Definitely leverage your special skills if you’re looking to improve your screen time!
I highly recommend participating in local improv opportunities. It'll give you experience, help hone your creativity, provide more confidence and offer the chance to build and nurture your network. Best of luck!

Where do you live?
I'd check out local websites for indie gigs. Even if it isn't the best production quality it will give you something to add to your resume. Also you are bound to meet some interesting people that way and sometimes get a few contacts in the industry
Check with the social media pages of your local establishments. That could go a long way into establishing your name in the community. Hope this helps
