Working on PMP certification while working full time. I plan to study 1.5-2hours/ workday and 3-4 hours Saturday/ Sunday. (Each). I think 2 months of prep should be sufficient? Those that studied/ passed, am I giving myself enough buffer/ is that enough?

2 months is plenty of time. It was really easy IMHO. I finished with time left over and got above target in all areas. Studied for one month.

Probably a bit too much. If you have done program management and just spend two weekends on exam simulators you should be fine

Would love accountability partner

Agreed - that’s too much studying. The practice tests are key as long as you have the formulas memorized.

Thank you all. My firm only pays for the first attempt, so want to make sure I have enough time!!

Saving this post for my PMP journey

Look on the bright side…maybe you’ll be one of those people who doesn’t pass and then doesn’t put “pmp” in their title as if they’re a doctor

I highly recommend a boot camp. They will tell you exactly what you need to know to pass. I used Velocitech several years ago and they were excellent.

Additional Posts in Consulting

Lately, I’ve been noticing, that I struggle with deep conversation/asking proper follow-up questions. I move on from topic to topic and don’t dig deeper to truly understand a topic (this is not just due to my lack of interest in a certain topic, I just don’t realize it).

Sometimes the person I’m talking to also loses interest in the conversation. Has anyone dealt with this? Any tips to become excellent in conversations?
