Anyone looking for Sr Copywriters? Open to moving but remote would be nice too. Open to anything really. Get me out.
Thankful for GB internet. Can’t imagine trying to WFH or keep my sanity if we were still in the age of dial up
Hello everyone. I wanted to share my resource to help students transition back to school after remote learning.
“As a general rule of human civilization, we’ve lived where we work. More than 90 percent of Americans drive to work, and their average commute is about 27 minutes. This tether between home and office is the basis of urban economics. But remote work weakens it; in many cases, it severs the link entirely, replacing spatial proximity with cloud-based connectivity. What knock-on changes will this new industrial revolution bring?” Thoughts? https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/02/remote-work-revolution/617842/
I have so much mom guilt sending my baby to daycare. She’s 6 months old. The transition has been harder on me than her (she seems fine and happy, just isn’t sleeping well there yet) but I wonder if I should try and find a different solution. Part time nanny, part time daycare? We can’t afford a nanny full time. If I’m WFH and we have a nanny part time is it realistic that I’d see her during the day or am I kidding myself?
Husband and I are moving to Seattle in a couple of months. His office is in downtown Seattle and mine is in Sodo. He wants to be able to walk or bike to work. I will be mostly WFH but want to be relatively close to office. We also have a pup. Any recommendations for neighborhoods or apartment buildings much appreciated! We would prefer to be close to parks and grocery stores vs. bars.
Working remote, house was was too noisy, office too far. Went to hotel lobby half a mile away instead and it felt normal again...
Anyone in here work in ERPA’s Wokrday practice? What’s the culture like? Any opportunities for professional development? Any active initiatives that keep a remote workforce engaged? Do y’all have fun??😂
WFH today and answered a conference call while taking a shit. Accidentally had the video on.
Just want to vent… am I the only person who doesn’t want to stay WFH full time forever? Starting my career virtually hasn’t necessarily been bad, I just feel really disconnected from my team and partner. It’s hard to get to know people casually over teams. Living in my 600 sqft apartment with my boyfriend working in the other room is also tough. It feels like my world is smaller. I just feel like I’m sorta missing out on something.
Any good suggestions for work from home music? I find Lofi works well during the day in the background. Any suggestions welcome!
Do you think your agency is gonna push up your return to office date (if you’re still wfh) because of the recent CDC guidance 🤔
What does being terminated as an associate look like during WFH? Our office is having a serious drop in billable hours. If one of us was terminated, how awkward is it to get things from the office?
Any WFH parents, also watch their kids during the day? If so, my question is HOW do you make that work? I have a hard time imagining a scenario where I could handle both at the same time...
Looking for an agency that’s embraced the times and is offering flexibility or straight up staying remote forever. Would love if people could add said agencies to this thread! Life’s too short to not own a farm in the middle of nowhere while simultaneously winning awards for your agency am I right?
Fairly confident I’ll get an in industry offer this week! Mixed feelings though... Main reason for leaving is WFH consulting just simply isn’t enjoyable. Getting harder for me to see the value in grinding for consulting. Is this short term thinking off? Do people think weathering this storm will give potential raises / promotions soon? I just don’t see consulting going back to what it use to be for ~2 years. I’m a consultant level going for promotion to manager.
WFH with a kid is making me less productive, so I end up working 30% longer hours to make up for it. But the longer I work, I get diminishing returns in productivity, so I have to work longer still. At this point, my mental stamina is just worn out. How do I fix this?
Hi, I have got offer from PWC India, Mumbai location. What are the chances that I will be deployed to a domestic client location project? And also if it's a critical data project like of banking what are the chances that they will ask for work from office at client location even if it's WFH these days? YOE: 5.5 years Technology: ETL development
What is your typical schedule like? Are companies outside the tech world more flexible with remote work or are you going in regularly?
I am from security background with 2 years of experience in Threat vulnerability management, should I consider switching for more salary?
I’ve had three interviews at places I should have gotten a job and I didn’t get any of them.. I have the skill set and the portfolio. I have no idea what companies are looking for ... any tips ?
People who hold conversations in hotel hallways in the middle of the night are the absolute worst. I can hear you through the two pillows sandwiching my head 😭
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector. Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting. https://www.propublica.org/article/how-mckinsey-is-making-100-million-and-counting-advising-on-the-governments-bumbling-coronavirus-response
Considering an offer from a boutique consulting firm. Accenture matches 6% 401k while the boutique only matches 4%. Is this a huge difference at the end of the day, or am I overthinking it?
I just started doing insurance defense 3 months ago. A few of my billing entries have been cut. I feel very bad. Does anybody have any tips for writing better time entries?
What options do I have to leave my current job? - L1-A status (so tied to this job/company) - H1-B approved, but not used yet - I-140 approved - I-485 receipt notice received, no biometrics, AP or EAD yet My job is mentally affecting me and I'm literally sick everyday. I know the right answer is the stick it out since I'm so close, but any other creative alternatives?

Need investment help. New big law attorney with $200k salary, paying NYC taxes. Currently in Texas with my family paying no rent. Will move to NYC in July. No student loan payments until September. What the hell should I do with all my money? Going to max 401k, HSA, and back door Roth... what else?
Looking for internal consulting roles within the industry - anyone care to provide a referral? PhD with >5 EOY in consulting.
Hi, all! I am currently in the process of switching firms. I’m at another big 4 in financial services. My new role has sent out a survey for market team preference between Financial Services and Products & Services (tech, media, telecommunications, consumer markets, etc). In terms of work and exit ops, which would you choose and why? Thank you!
Anyone else delayed at LGA? Sky club meet up!
I didn’t get promoted to a senior and my firm is hiring a senior position in my office ... should I be worried? 😢
I saw a post about getting the vaccine and many responses. This article has good info about the vaccine I believe. Just read it. https://www.advisory.com/en/daily-briefing/2020/04/13/covid-young-people
Is there a $6000 limit on how much I can contribute for a backdoor IRA? Also, how do the taxes work? Traditional IRA -> Roth IRA
What’s a good IT certification with less work experience? All the ones I want to get require 3-5 work experience which I don’t have yet
Please help. I am debating between taking the gre and the gmat. On quant, I scored very high on in practice exams for the gre but the highest I got on on the gmat was 55th percentile. Verbal is the opposite, but the degree to which my quant score on the gmat is low is worse I think than the degree to which my verbal score on the gre is low (if that makes sense). Should I take/report gre? I’m wondering if well-written essays make up for a lower than average (by like 2-4 points) verbal gre score
