We have thought about it, any particular neighborhood recommendations in SD?

Have you ever considered a walkable medium sized town? Asheville, Savannah, Portland ME, Boulder, Provo? Some great towns are even smaller - Lancaster PA is a gem.

If you like Savannah, check out Charleston. It's a lot bigger which may help with the energy and adjustment. I moved to CHS a year ago and personally love it!

Dallas and Houston

Houston is walkable in midtown, downtown and parts of EaDo.

What are your show stoppers otherwise? Chicago saw a lot of exodus during the pandemic, you may be able to find a deal there. Austin is great, but like you said, has skyrocketed in cost. Parts of Dallas or Fort Worth might be an option if you can tolerate Texas in general. I think Portland is another area that has some very walkable neighborhoods, but has gone up a lot in price recently.

Florida. Gorgeous beaches.

West Palm Beach area is nice

Denver

Tried convincing my gf for us to move to Denver. She’s not about the cold…. Ugh

Advice needed! I am currently in a toxic work environment making $60k (commission structure is okay, no 401k match, in office 4 days/week and 10 days PTO), I am in the final rounds for a role at an awesome company with great culture and upward mobility, but the pay is $55k (equity, uncapped commission, remote, and unlimited PTO). I think I would love the role, and I’m sure the total comp with equity and commission would be very similar to my current role, but I am still hung up the lower salary

ADVICE NEEDED: I currently work in a WFH recruiter role with an amazing manager, she listens and is very motivating. My job is very very slow pace and a bit repetitive. I got a job offer for 10k more plus a bonus structure but it is hybrid and travel is required. I do not know whether or not I want to leave my cushion WFH job, I got so used to my routine and not doing much. Also, I like traveling to visit family for the holidays which I can do with my current role.

My fellow remote workers: Do you ever run errands without saying anything during the day? I try to go grocery shopping once a week around lunchtime. I just really can’t stand the crowds over the weekend and I’d rather stay online later if it means getting my shopping done earlier.

My CEO recently decided to push up the date for people to return to office from Sept to July. It will be mandatory PT in office with full return in sept. Going to get major push back since we originally said sept for all but with everything reopening more quickly than anticipated wanted to make it earlier. CEO feels it’s better to know sooner than later if people are going to bail 🙄 How are your companies handling the return?

What's more important to you👇 (Answer honestly) 1.) Compnay A is giving WFH, 5 day's a week working & a good team with nice Work Life balance but the CTC is 5 lakh less than Compnay B. 2.) Compnay B is giving you 5 lakh more CTC than Compnay A, But mostly prefer you to join office, 5 days a week working but due to high work pressure working 6 days is Normal to complete project tasks, don't have WLB. Note: Both A&B Company is MNC'S and competitor to each other Which Company will you choose?

Wats your take guys ? I don't like hybrid model as it works for those who are locals of same city where the office is . For me i have to leave my parents, hometown and travel 2000kms to Bangalore for joining office how it is hybrid for me ? I still worry about myself and family health not sure about COVID. Also most of my team sits in Hyderabad few are in Bangalore .office should be optional. Indeed we were able to work in past 2 years right ? Then why force people to office ?

Hi fishes, I have 2.5 yoe & I'm confused to pick an offer between Citibank and PWC AC for a data science role. Can any1 pls share the reality on WLB at these 2 companies?? A few points to consider: - Pwc is offering permanent wfh while citi isn't - Citi will be working for internal business problems while pwc will be for external clients - Pwc pay is extremely high for my job level compared to Citi and I'm worried if this will affect my job post this hike boom subsides!!

PS: My previous employer is offering me to join back as a Manager but I am inclined for PwC for WFH. Please suggest Thanks in advance
