One of the team member has applied leaves for continuous 3 days this month. Later she applied for a 15 days leave saying a medical emergency. Both the leaves were rejected from her manager saying connect with HR. though she is on leave without PM leave approval and this is not even prior notice to the team.
Now'what and all would be the consequences she might face. Is there any chance of these things are being escalated? Please advise!

Folks that took medical leave for alcohol use treatment: What was your experience? Did you do inpatient detox? anyone skipped detox and go straight into an outpatient IOP? How was that? How long were you out on leave? How much notice did you give ur boss before the leave? Anyone quit/not go back?

I am scared to take a medical leave of absence for depression / burnout even though I know and my therapist agrees it would be the best thing for me to do right now. I feel like I will be removed from my current team and I will be marked in the office as “weak” (even though I was rated 2 and then 1 for PYs) and it will ruin my chances of being promoted to senior next July. I was recently promoted, and now part of my team report to me. I'm now able to see their pay rates and I am honestly so disappointed in the company. Especially since we just gave annual raises in Feb, plus we can all see where the money is going and it's not to the employees. Makes me sick

Anyone has experience negotiating a medical bill with MGH. I got some blood work done and was sent a bill of 1800. The bill was 2700 but negotiated rate with my insurance is 1800. I got the exact same blood work done in NC 2 years back and it cost me <200. My insurance said i should have gone to labcorp. I am new to Boston and didn't know this. MGH says prices are higher as we are a teaching hospital. It's just open loot and does not make sense. Anyone dealt with a similar situation.

I just had a first round interview with HR. It’s a large company with tons of reviews about what the interview process so I expected to get behavioral questions. In reality the person spent the first 10 minutes explaining what the role is not. They could not answer specific questions about the role and only asked me two specific questions about my current job and 1 behavioral question and then went into salary/benefits. Is it typical to still go over salary if they don’t expect to move forward?
