Which job is more recession proof? Also depends on how far along you are in your career. If you’re still junior, you don’t want to be coasting as you’re not learning and your skills deteriorate

This is an important point, especially seeing OP’s later comment that they’re class of 2016.

$170k currently, offer would be $230k TC

What’s your current salary?

How many YOE? Both seem like great options!

Class of 2016

What are your career goals? What are your personal values? Will the new job help you get there / fulfill your values, or will it hurt? What are the risks of staying at your current job?

In 5 years’ time, which decision are you more likely to regret? What about 10 years?

Are the ultimate advancement opportunities better in the new role? What role is better positioned to lead to your ultimate career goal (if you have one)?I took a pay cut for a different in house role a few months ago, because my new role is more aligned with the areas/focus of where I want my legal career to go… and fewer hours too. I would also ask for transparent information on how many hours the team is putting in each week. I have moved a couple times for more $, leaving a great work atmosphere, only to find the new atmosphere toxic.

This seems like a no brainer to me but I guess it’s all relative.
