Worth pursuing business development as an experienced analyst going into senior? Its something I'm pretty good at but it seems like at my level youre mostly evaluated on utilization...

Keep the burning desire then and pursue it when you become a manager as much as people tell you to otherwise. Realty is at your level we would evaluate you for your technical and project management skills and if you are acing those then you could have some sales as icing on the cake but don’t compromise on those.

It’s a huge asset and differentiator when you’re making the jump from Manager to Senior Manager, and an even larger asset (and requirement) when looking to make Partner.

Analyst to Senior it won’t be something at all expected of the level, but I always encourage any of my analysts that show an aptitude for BD to focus on it as much as they would quality and project management - mainly to hone the skill set for their later stage career aspirations - because if they’re already rockstars in that domain when they hit Manager, their progression curve can accelerate dramatically.

Awesome, very helpful stuff thank you :) and do you think it could have a significant impact on compensations if as first year senior say I had like 50k or so in annual engagements brought in?

Two cents intro:
Am coming from the B2B tech advanced analytics space. Have also thought about consulting IC work, since it can be very people-forward. My goal is to make my daily people-first rather than code-first. Since I like corporate and helping folks and projects grow, analytics management seems ideal.

Hello Everyone,

Need suggestions please.

I am joining a company at a CTC 21LPA in Feb. Tech: Data Science / 3YOE

I always wanted to do MBA in India. But not sure if it's worth now.

My new CTC is comparable to avg of Top 12-15 B Schools in India. And 2 years down the line it would still be comparable.

What executive PG or Masters should I consider? Also I am not looking for full time MBA. My total cost would be >65L if I take opportunity cost into consideration.

All comments are welcome.
