Got an interview with Amazon within their Advertising department. I hear working for Amazon can be great if you get into the right department. Anyone have insights to their advertising department? Good or bad? Also, would love some interview tips if you have them! (It’s for an Executive Assistant position) thank you!
Very bad behaviour of pwc
They asked details for interview by third party recruiting team.
And then after 1 2 weeks, didn't ask me for a date and time, booked the slot themselves.
And I thought that maybe I can try and adjust, but when I attended the interview, no one actually joined the interview.
I stayed for 15 minutes.
I mailed the HR 2 times since then, but no response. This is so unprofessional PwC PwC India

Is booth doing a phone call this year?
It would probably be seen as a check mark, but doesn’t really stand out. You would still need strong other components of your application. But people tend to over-hype the GMAT’s importance. It’s important, but not the end all be all of your application.
Can I get an interview without a gmat?
Serious question, how many positions from B School recruiting seriously factor in your GMAT score? I thought that was just necessary to get in, not actively excluding you from getting a job.
MBB for sure explicitly ask for and look at it. A guy/gal who participates in Strategy& recruiting just gave anecdotal evidence above that he/she looks at it.
Not sure about banking/PE/VC.
I read the other day that tech companies don't ask, but that many students put it on the resume.
I recruit for whatever the fuck tier Strategy& is these days and if your GMAT isn’t 750+ I don’t factor in the GMAT score as a big positive for your candidacy. Not saying <750 is bad, just that in my mind it doesn’t really make the candidate stand out for me

I had a 730 and got interviews from all 3. Fucked up the interviews, but that’s my own fault for recruiting across too many sectors. You’re fine.

Getting the interview for B&B is almost entirely based on networking. Getting the M interview is almost entirely based on resume. A 710 won’t stand out, but I know people with lower who got interviews at my M7
A1, I'm not talking about being socially inept, I'm talking about the randomness involved that exacerbates inherent biases. For example, maybe the BCG guy is from my same undergrad school and we enjoyed a great conversation about our favorite hang outs. But the Bain gal is from a different part of the world and we find no strong connection as we speak.
Not to mention, all of us have, intended or unintended, inherent biases based on gender, race, creed, nationality, etc.
