What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

If you can survive long enough to spend it and find a better long term position with some WLB. Sounds awful tbh

Honestly the hours you're describing for the banking role are in line with the hours for an FDD manager at the moment. So if the banking position truly has those hours then the WLB between the two options is negligible, making it a true dollars to dollars comparison.
Not comparable... bankers are working 80-100, vs 55-65 in td
I wouldn't, I'd do the bank.
That’s almost double big 4 TS salaries
Go to the investment bank and then after a few years come to big 4 (if yoy want always as option), going the other way may be harder to break into banking

Try to stick out 2 yrs in banking if you can - will give you better exit ops than FDD and you could easily afford to take time off and travel after the two years if that was something you would want.
Do banking. It’s painful but worth it. Hours can be insane and the worse is the unpredictable schedule. Let’s say you plan on taking the long weekend off and the client emails this Friday. A Tuesday deadline is promised. You’ll end up working all of the long weekend - if you can live with the unpredictability of WLB and the hours, definitely go for banking. Also in most banks you only get two weeks off.
That’s the same worh FDD so might as well do banking 🤷♂️
