Hello, all. First time here. I would like to get some advise. I have over 13 years of Food Safety experience in the retail and manufacturing sectors. Recently, I relocated from Dallas to Puerto Rico with the goal in mind to have my daughters closer to family. As you may know, Puerto Rico is huge in pharma and medical device, and there is a lot of opportunities. However, there is not much for food safety professionals, unless you cook. Do you think is time for a career change?

My manager thinks that because I WFH, I shouldn't be allowed to take sick time. If I do take a day off, she makes such a big deal over it, and makes life miserable for days afterwards. Problem is, I work in HR, so I'm really not sure who to go to, or if there's anything I can even do.

Now they are saying "No vaccine is 100% effective so this is to be expected"? As if we're just suppose to shrug our shoulders after they have been pressuring everyone to get the vaccine? DPW has made the Covid-19 vaccine mandatory for all U.S. offices. Anyone who doesn‘t have the vaccine will not be permitted to enter the premises. Can I please check how the other BigLaw firms are dealing with this? Don‘t want to start a political discussion, but this seems very intruisive to me.

Okay, I’m just going to say I’m deeply ashamed that I work for adam&eve DDB London. IMO it’s become a nasty, toxic environment run by robots. Some of the things I’ve heard this week in how they’ve treated people recently has shaken me. So many people are out sick with burnout. Bf’s mom is ovrbearing. He got sick the other day and she drove over to take him to her house to “care for him properly” without warning. I asked him to stay here, and good thing he did cuz turns out it’s covid. She comes over every single day for 3 days to bring him soup, even though I made my own huge batch of soup and he took a pic of how full the fridge is. She calls 5 times a day and talks about him like he’s disabled. I’m exhausted from dealing with her; any advice on how to deal?
