Would think if you’re just planning on doing M&A tax you’re better off spending your time working and building your network through your projects, coworkers, and industry networking events. A top MBA seems a bit impractical if you’re the goal is partner in m&a tax

M&A tax partner here. No. Spend your time learning from your firm and your real world experiences. If you don’t have an MST, that may be helpful.

I did a part time program and I think it is valuable, but not bc of business leader access, more because I have a stronger general business acumen and I can play the b school card when needed.

Long and ugly story, but a former employer paid for a portion of it. I did not have my new employer pay for it, although they offered, because of the specific circumstances I was in/personal choice. If you can get someone to pay for it, you should.
Less than 10 years of experience and I will be up for partner within the next 2 years. I think it accelerated my career.
If u wanna do M&A tax u should get JD instead
I think most people on this thread are going to largely tell you it’s not worth it from a financial/career perspective for what you want to do, but if it’s a personal aspiration then that’s a different story that none of us are going to be able to help you with
