I work at a T3 tech company (think Spotify). Comp discussions are in March, ive been getting recruiters all month offering me 30-35k more for the same level, is this something I can bring up at year end if I’m only expecting a 5k raise?
My department had some turnover in leadership and I am meeting with my new lead for a 1:1. Any advice? I’m not as close to him as I was to our old lead, but now he is responsible for my promotion etc
Wondering why the bonuses are so low? Here is the reason - 598 managers and 651 senior manager promotions in Tax. That’s the most lopsided promotion stats ever.
Thinking about switching to FDD after finishing my second audit busy season (currently a staff but up for senior promotion in June). Should I jump at the staff level or stay a few more years and try to jump at the senior level?
Do people get held back for promotion if their AOS is pending in the middle of promotion time?
Leaving for a new firm and the pay raise will mean that I’m above the contribution limits for both Traditional and Roth IRA’s. Where do I put my money now? (Already max 401(k)
Ok, got my promotion, time to jump!!
Just made AP. Looking for a celebration watch. Have quite small wrists and bought a 38mm El Primero for my EM promotion. Other watches in the collection are a Mark XV and a 70s vintage Omega. Any ideas of available watches?
After a year of being extremely underpaid, my boss gave me a 30% raise I didn't ask for. Is that normal? Or super generous?

Negotiating a promotion and raise from Sr Manager to Assoc Director. How much should I ask for? Low 100s?
How long should you work at a firm before you start looking for opportunities? I’ve heard it’s wise to wait until a promotion otherwise you get the stigma that you’re a job hopper. Also, what’s the minimal time you can work on a place and put it on your resume?
Do first years get any sort of raise?

Do I need worksite H1B amendment if I am attending an account presentation (internal, not client facing) for a 3 days? This is not related to my project.
Any robo-advisors (or other places you’d recommend) where we’re allowed to park $? Found out that I have $ just sitting in my Vanguard brokerage account that hasn’t been traded & will need to decide myself which funds to invest this $ — don’t have the expertise or time to do this Note: There are limitations for us at Big 4, since we’re audit firms
Are firms willing to negotiate the role with campus hires? I received an offer for a big 4 in risk, which I signed early in September, but just now received another offer in TAS from a different firm. While I much prefer the big 4 firm, I do not want to work in risk anymore. Would a big 4 be willing to change groups? Have you heard of anyone able to do this? I feel kind of bad, but I truly despise the idea of working in risk now. ( My friend who's in the role right now hates it)
Does Deloitte let you write your own job description and pick the SOC Code that the application is filed with? My h1b application was denied last year and I am wondering if I can request them contd
How would you handle the below scenario? I recently accepted an amazing job offer, start date in late November. I negotiated aggressively and I’m thrilled with the end comp. It is a start up with 100 employees. But the CEO is pushing for me to have regular calls with him before my start date to discuss work and review documents! I don’t want to start off on the wrong foot by refusing, but also don’t want to set unrealistic standards. Would offering 1-2 calls in the next month be ok? Thanks!
I know there has been similar discussion here recently, but how is WSGR PA Corporate's culture? I've been perusing forums and hear really conflicting accounts with some people saying that it's horrible, while others saying it's good. Also, there was talk on people leaving WSGR en masse to other firms (especially Cooly) and WSGR not being in the best place (although that was pre-covid and I guess things might have changed since then). Is it true that WSGR is/was declining?
In your opinion, what’s the expected response time for standard emails (not time sensitive, normal client/partner). 48 hours? 24 hours? 12? Depends?
Okay so I started at my new company a few months ago and was able to negotiate for a higher salary. A second person for the same position/level was hired a month after me...(cont.)

I am in a situation where my group is about to be laid off. I have not interviewed for 8 years and never in the US. I consider myself extremely talented in the tech field and have contributed to many well used libraries and frameworks but I can’t even get an interview anywhere I apply. Are there any resources to get feedback on what I’m doing wrong?
I’ve found myself placed in a strategic leadership position despite not having a strategy background due to consistent layoffs. Any tips on how to grow my strategic chops? Books, newsletters?? Help!
Feeling guilty for taking a 30/45 mins lunch break and finishing the day before 7pm. But I guess I finished my tasks for the day and I can just tackle the rest tomorrow. Is that acceptable. I feel like I lost track of when to stop since WFH
