The AFS role is a corporate function and the responsibilities match my background but they aren’t perfect since I’m trying to pivot my career a bit, while the smaller company is offering a hybrid role with more exposure to my area of interest. Base pay is pretty even but AFS has better benefits (slightly bigger 401k match, 2 more PTO days, ESPP; however, the annual bonus % seems like it will be larger at the other company, though I hear Accenture (AFS) bonuses improve as one moves through the levels?), but I’m trying to weigh job satisfaction, company name/resume value, and not wanting to get stuck not being able to pivot to my area of interest once I get in AFS. Any thoughts?

Agreed. 2 pto days isn’t all that much in the long run. Remember to line up holidays as well, as they may differ. Honestly C1 is right. Pick the one that best sets you up for the next job. Though weighing the name on your resume should be considered as well.

If the other company is stable, I would go with it assuming it has a clear career growth path. Staying in consulting is the same rat race for a partner track, and life is pretty crappy as you progress.

Whatever it is, pick your next job based on the job you want after that one.
AFS is a really safe place to be right now as far as Accenture goes. Largely protected from the consulting layoffs that have been happening across Accenture, Deloitte, etc. so I would say if job security/longevity is important to you in this current economic crisis, you should go with AFS
What if job security wasn’t a concern? (Obviously I don’t want to lose my job/get furloughed again, but I don’t think the smaller company is at risk of that) I’d say my main priorities are exposure to my areas of interest, upward mobility and compensation package. Any idea on how the current crisis might impact internal movement to my area of interest? Are you familiar with compensation (raises, bonuses) at AFS as people progress?
