Companies may be freezing hiring but if they have a specific need there can still be opportunities. If they are reputable and you have an accepted offer to start in the next few weeks I'd certainly hope they honor that. Thinking back to 2009 my firm did not let go people who just started as they thought it would hurt future recruiting efforts

Depends on your job. But accountants will always be needed, one way or the other. Not as much probably, but new issues arise and needs are there

If you are a high performer at your current job, you should stay at that current job. These are not good times to switch jobs.

Lucky you. I received a verbal offer from another b4 but have yet to get offer letter and it’s been two weeks. Doubt it’s gonna happen in the end

It’s definitely a risk. If things continue to get worse and there are more layoffs I wouldnt want to be the new person.

I just signed an offer last week... should I still put in my notice?

I’m just worried cause their stocks are dropping 😰

I’m in the same boat. I brought it up with the company and they’re large enough to where even if they were to go bankrupt they’d need the tax group to get them through that. If a recession hits bad enough it’ll affect the PA jobs just as much as the industry jobs so it’s a pretty similar risk regardless of what you do. So maybe bring it up if you have a job offer? I’d say probably don’t go looking unless you have something lined up. There are a lot of companies that are not in hiring freezes just because most others are. Just have open communication about it with the job you’re seeking because they have to understand where you’re coming from. Also, let’s be honest PA will always take you back.

Looking for recruiting firms to help me find my next project / program management role.

Struggling to determine which firms can help with PM roles AND I'm struggling to get the ones I do find to respond to me. It may have something to do where I'm at in my career - 15+ years of PM experience & director-level roles at my last 2 companies - so more exec level but not quite C-Suite. Have tons of one-off recruiters hitting me up on LinkedIn about contract PM roles but that's not what I want.
