I’ve only seen one person do this and that was out of a b school program. Tbh I don’t even think you would want to be put in that position. So many things would be new to you that you are supposed to have working knowledge of like SPAs, Credit docs, lending processes, FDD, you name it. Seems like a long putt.

Right the problem is PE isn’t like consulting where you’re always supposed to be stretching. There is limited to no margin for error so you need full competency.
very difficult but not impossible. source: a few data points of ex-MBB joining at VP level after MBA. Would have to be a pro-consulting, likely LMM-UMM fund
On the ops side? Very possible. On the investment side? Next to no chance unless you already have a strong background in IB and PE. That’s the only time where I have seen it happen for the investment team

It would be a bit of a pivot but I think it can be done

I did. But I’m often reminded how I lack experience in certain financial modeling/analytics situations 😞
