Does EYP pay the most out of non-MBB

Out of curiosity, is consulting, esp MBB consulting not as coveted as they were several years ago? I keep seeing advanced technical (data science) skills required for many industry positions, even if the role is strategic. The traditional strategy/biz ops roles seem to become more and more selective, are typical exit paths from mbb consulting becoming more of a “red sea” situation?

Got promoted, and am now at 2.5 YOE since graduating. Top performer, but I’ve always wanted to gain experience at MBB. Is it a step back if I apply to an entry level role? Location: DC

Leadership advice appreciated. I received an offer from MBB for a role that would take me back 6-8 years in my career. I am senior manager equivalent now with 15+ YOE and the role is for the consultant post MBB level. The pay cut would be $10K. I’m nearly 40. Situation: I have a MBB and Amazon PMT offer for summer internship that I need to choose. MBB comes with FT offer, Amazon PMT will most likely result in return offer. If I go with MBB, I plan to exit to big Tech in 2-3 years. Y1 TC for both will be quite similar (around 230k).

Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB

I’ve noticed at my agency (pretty consistently now), the men get promoted faster than the women most notably at the mid/mid-senior level. Like I’ve seen guys with a full year or two less experience than their female counterparts get promoted a year earlier making them more senior to the women with more experience. Why is that? I’m starting to get pretty annoyed 🙁
