Would it be wrong to get a flip phone to not have teams and outlook on my phone? In my office it’s a requirement

So you are saying you would not have Teams and Outlook on your phone e even though it’s a requirement in your office? If you have this big of an issue with it, seems like it might not be the right office for you.

I’ve always been more stressed that I’m missing something I actually want to know about because I actually care vs the alternative… not having a device, not learning how to set boundaries, not choosing my friends and family when something pings that can actually wait (everything work related obviously if not having a phone is an option… no one has to know you have service nor saw it). Learn how to have the tools for yourself and so you can make a decision like an adult by setting boundaries, and you will not live based on the demands of others, mandated or not by a paid device.

Well, it's wrong that your firm requires you to get a smart phone, have Teams and Outlook on it, and doesn't help pay for the phone.

I vote that you get an iPhone, and have it set so that the Work focus only goes on from 9-5, and the Personal focus doesn't push through notifications from Teams or Outlook (or however you set it up). Android likely has something similar, but you have to set it up, I suspect. I get to just say that my iPhone automatically changed 'focus' for reasons only Apple knows.

Android now has a separate app screen for work. I love it:

Would you also have a work phone with the required software? If this is for your personal phone, I see no issue with getting something you're more comfortable with.

No they won’t give us work phones

Are they still reimbursing for your cell phone?

Lol if that’s the case I would tell them nope.

I'm confused about this. When did EY stop paying for cell phone plans? I worked there about a decade ago so maybe things change.

Assuming I'm misreading your post, the solution here is to have a work phone with whatever apps are required (teams, email) and turn it off or put it away when you want to disconnect. Then have whatever personal phone you want.

If I were you, I would carefully read the policy and then escalate if needed. Again things may have changed since I was there but it's hard to imagine this would change because expectations of being available via your phone have only grown.

You can turn off notifications. I have it on my phone for if I need it, but do not get push notifications. GT does not require it though.

YOE 8, skill business analysis, had HR discussion with IQViA , current CTC 12.36LPa , HR was mentioning as 16.5 fixd and 18lacs CtC.

I said thats too less, and asked to consider 20lacs fixed , which she did not agree, then reduced to 18lacs fixed and said she will checi with management.

Anybody tried to negotiate with IqViA and got a better offer? Will they come back with better offer?

Associate in litigation section of boutique firm in South Florida— there are 6 attorneys and four partners, so it’s very top heavy. I actually generate clients (only attorney who speaks legal Spanish) and have a small book. I’d like to be a partner , but don’t think it’ll happen because it doesn’t make business sense for the firm to bring on another partner. Is this a fair assumption? What questions should I ask the other partners to test if they would be willing to invite a new partner?
