Gift cards. Our daycare center also has a list of the teachers/staff favorite snacks/stores/restaurants so we’re adding their favorite food item along with a gift card

like

Gift cards for sure. We always do Starbucks since there's one right by the daycare so they can grab easily. Plus the more coffee the merrier to deal with screaming kids all day 😅

funny

Gift cards! I once did origami cash Christmas trees in a nicely written thank you card as well for fun.

like

I was sending a cookie basket to the school for everyone and $50 gift cards to the teachers in my daughters room.

Starbucks gift card

Visa gift cards! Teachers get paid so little for what they're doing, the extra money goes a long way!

Etiquette question - my company is flying me out to England in October for a week ( the week of the 3rd) and paying for my flights. I’ll be training new teammates and be in day long meetings the whole time. Is it a faux pas for me to use PTO and extend that Europe stay for a few days to explore London on my own time? Or since they’re flying me out and I have to get home anyway, is it ok?

I asked 3 of my higher ups to write me letters of recommendation a month ago when I put in my resignation. I went on PTO for a couple weeks & followed up with my manager today. He told me “actually I was told we aren’t allowed to write them for you. Sorry.”

I asked why and he just shrugged and continued the conversation...

Has anyone heard of anything like this? Bosses “not being allowed” to write LORs for exiting employees? I’m leaving on my own terms & good standing.

Thoughts on GBTC bitcoin etf?

This war have given good idea how establishment companies and global systems can be weaponized so fast. I was so mesmerized the way China built everything home grown. Time have come that we need to start building our own or force 75% partnership with local companies for global brands. Localized data, localized infrastructure. If anyone don't comply we need to cut them off sooner rather than repenting later.
