Go to country first and the decide. Can't emphasize that enough. It amazes me the kids who think every place is like their hometown....it's not and you might hate.....and thats ok.
You will miss the dumbest things, and get angry about strange stuff.
I wish I remember what it was called, but when I did a year long study abroad there was an emotional process they provided us with in some study that most people moving abroad go through. Excitement, frustration, homesickness, and adjustment. We all went through it, 2 kids went back home, the rest of us finally adjusted. The hardest part for many is the language barrier. I took French classes every week while I was there to overcome it
I'm abroad right now! And I'm lucky - my company is looking to make their first footprint in the US and I'm helping lead that.
Qualifications depend on the country, and the work permits vary wildly.
Every three months for the first two years expect to be on an emotional rollercoaster.
