I have recently started an investment platform for angel investors and entrepreneurs. It is 100% free for everyone while we build a following. We already have 20 pitches live and would appreciate my fellow consultants/fishes showing support and signing up for the platform! Please DM with any questions. Thanks in advance!

I think it’s helpful to clarify whether you’re actually coming from a front office role or not. Middle office just isn’t the same as being a banker or in sales and trading, so if you’re not one of those three it’s just not really front office and moving into something truly back office will feel awful by comparison. Middle / back office at GS isn’t great at all. Comp has gotten worse every year, the emphasis on overdoing diversity hiring has negatively impacted the quality of the average candidate and the pay for the number of hours you work is not competitive at all. I worked at GS for several years, and am on a trading desk elsewhere now and can tell you i’d never move to middle / back office at GS
Did you transfer in with a promotion or did you have to start all over?
What are your long term career goals? If it’s front office you should stay in front office. Are you getting a raise at the new job and/or better work life balance? Spends what you want really
Currently moving from a FO position to much more of a management role albeit FO management. I would consider this MO as I do not have direct revenue goals, but the advisors I cover do.
You need to make sure it fits your career story. I’m my case I’ve been in sales since I graduated college but have always been curious if I’d be better at / enjoy more being in a management role.
My thinking is if I enjoy the role I can move continue to take on bigger and bigger management roles and move up the ladder. If I decide I like sales better I can shift back to sales and my story above makes complete sense. I didn’t want to get pigeon holed, gave management a try, didn’t like it as much, and therefor I’m looking to switch back. Additionally the skills I’ll pick up will only open more doors for me without closing any.
Think carefully above your own career narrative before you make a decision.
My bf is in the city where the GS offer is, also cost of living calculator puts it at 100% raise
I would love to be front office, but realistically I would have to get an MBA for that to materialize.
Just make sure it doesn’t screw up your story. Try to find some career meaning beyond it getting you closer to your bf and money
