Insurance Defense is very broad, essentially meaning you’ll be working for the insurance company. Today, you can insure almost anything. PIP is a subset of insurance defense but most medium firms will have their insurance defense department only handling one kind of claim. For example, some firms ID practice group may only do PIP, another firm may only handle first party property claims.

PIP is a subset of ID. PIP typically deals with defending insurers agains non payment of med bills arising under the state’s statutory pip scheme.

Crossposted. Looking for advice. I’ve got 10+ years as an attorney and have been trying to go in house for over a year. I have a generalist background (although I’m primarily a litigator) and was a partner at an Amlaw 100 firm. I’ve had my resume reviewed and keep getting great feedback. Not getting many interviews and when I do, I’m not getting offers despite positive interviews. How do I differentiate myself? Should I get some sort of certification or specialty? This is getting depressing.
