Would these look bad on a resume: Cannabis company (publicly traded) or online casino operator. I don’t want to run into issues in the future.

You don’t want to work for a company/person that thinks those are bad if you don’t

Our company does drug testing and we had a candidate get an offer that started making up excuses to push things out. Then it clicked he worked for a cannabis company and was prob trying to push out drug test. Anyhow, we had to move on because we couldn’t wait a month for that. He prob should have been up front (I’m not sure if they would have even cared since it’s legal in our state).

But I did have prelim convos with an ecig company at one point and ended up being really grateful I didn’t move forward because I just don’t support it and wouldn’t have wanted the affiliation. In that industry there are always people who are strongly for or strongly against - and u Just hope you never have to explain yourself to your dream employer if you’re not 100% behind it to begin with. It all has to be what you’re personally comfortable with and what is best for you.

I love my fiancé and we’ve been together for 5+ years but I don’t enjoy the company of their family. A few reasons include: homophobia, rude MIL, and recently their brother invading my physical boundaries/resulting in giving me creeps.

We’ve already discussed and my fiancé supports instilling boundaries. I’m always civil but thinking about how I’ll always have these people in my life makes me so anxious. Tips on how to move forward when you’re stuck with people you don’t care for?

Crazy to think about but I gave myself a $52,000 raise in less than a year (24M)

Started January 2022 out at $68,000/year, quit that job
Started a new job in April 2022 at $90,000/year, quitting soon
Accepted a new job for December 2022 at $120,000/year

Keep growing and betting on yourself, it will pay off. Make the right connections and people will see your value.

1/10 2nd round interview on 1/24 they emailed saying MLK threw off their regular meetings. When do I follow up again? Small, busy company (no structured HR).

I have a client, who is in a new relationship, and his gf contributes about $2600 to the household expenses.

Do I include her contribution as income to my client? or where do I input in the dissomaster? Thank you!

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??

How do you not care / stress way too much about your job? I am a mom and stressed out most workday evenings thinking about the work / interactions during the day. I have heard TEd talks about compartmentalizing job vs personal life , mindfulness etc , but I don’t change. I could literally leave my job & focus on kids alone & be fine as husband is in a executive position. Yet, it’s my own career focus & my self induced stress and pressure that takes a toll on me. What’s your advice for me?
