Started a new remote entry level job with very minimal training. I am fresh out of school and thinking what is the best way for me to learn my role, duties, and tasks with no training and being remote. How will I succeed if in order to do the job I need to be trained.
I just received a job offer for a position that better aligns with my skills and education. It’s also something I want to do and would get me out of banking, so to speak. The proposed salary offer is only 10% more than what I am making now, though. I currently have a fully remote job and have tons of free time and flexibility. I love my current job as it affords me time with my kids and it’s stress free. The new job is in an office setting and will have more responsibility. Not sure what to do?
Q for the people that like WFH and never want to go back - what is your living situation? I hate WFH and can’t wait to be back in the office, so curious if other people have adapted better or if their environments are just more conducive to being successful (house with home office and family vs being alone in a 1BR apartment).
Do you think it is appropriate for this role that is looking for following experience and responsibilities to be paying 80k total compensation
Looking at moving to Raleigh. Fed law clerk who also clerked in state court (NJ). Curious as to the potential salaries and benefits for a third-year associate and what is/isn’t negotiable.
Wow. Just got to know that I’m getting a raise starting next month, and my bonus is here! Woooohooooo 🎉 💃🏻 🥳

By close of eyes is not a reasonable time for any deliverable to be due. You work from home not 24/7. Let’s normalize standard working hours; if work isn’t done within eight to nine hours in day then it’s time for evaluate systems, if all those Zoom calls were necessary and staff utilization.
Have an offer for 30% raise and work that I want to do at another firm. Also have a pretty solid guarantee from leadership I can do the same work at Deloitte, but no additional comp adjustment (outside of the mid year bump). Am up for manager this year and barring any unforeseen circumstances will get it in June. What the f should I do?

For those of you who are married… is there any benefit to having one spouse maxing out 401k while the other contributes none? (Assuming you currently contribute ~10k per year each and can’t afford to both be maxing?)
Starting a new job and rethinking my retirement contributions. So far have put between 7-10% of my salary into a 401k over the last two years, debating if a Roth IRA is something I should consider. New firm matches 3% to 401k, will be making 123k. Thoughts?

Anyone like their partner’s holiday events more than your own family holidays? It’s so hard splitting holidays between families when there’s such a difference in experience and family dynamics
Recent grad trying to break into art directing. I can’t afford portfolio school so I’m resorting to creating a “homemade” portfolio book. I have the graphic design skills, and I am willing to invest a few thousand into creating my book. What advice and resources would you recommend for this endeavor?
Is it difficult to join MBB 1 year post-MBA from industry? And what level would you come in at in that case?
I have questions for EY Tax technology and transformation team. I am getting promoted this year as a tax senior and thinking of switching firms. I do have a tech background (info sys/data science) with knowledge on basic programming languages which i am certain that i forgot most of them.. Will they still pick me up as a senior or would i have to go down as a staff level? Also curious about what they do & their compensation.
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
I don't know about you guys, but I haven't seen any colleague take an exit opp that I would have taken...
My ex fiancé from 5 years ago literally started following me and liked pictures on my insta. He’s married with a kid now. Like why? 🤦🏻♀️
Thoughts on exiting MBB to revolut? Seems like culture there isn't great, but RSUs could make it worth it?
I’m not going home for holidays this year because of travel restrictions. I’ve been seeing someone for ~6 months. I’ve met their family (who are local), but haven’t spent much time with them. We haven’t discussed holiday plans, so not sure what to expect. Should I expect to be invited? Do I ask / hint? Do I need to get presents for everyone, or just for the SO?
Currently on L1-A visa and about to start application for i140 and i485 concurrently (in EB1-C category). Keen to change jobs - when is the earliest I will be in a position to switch employers? Once I have the EAD? Or only when I receive the GC?
Are Zoom's privacy issues a threat to their growth or market performance? I think they could easily get this out of headlines, most people are too busy worrying about 'rona to push on this

How do you rebuild your cash after a large expense? We recently did a necessary renovation to part of our home, and even though we tried to be economical, it was still a big expense. We agree on the big picture of why we did it, but are having sticker shock and also are both nervous and clamping down on spending for the time being. Is this a good response? Is there a better one?
If I quit big 4 I get to keep my cell phone, right? They just stop paying for the service?
