Got an interview for a non-Tech role at Amazon Prime Video (data and insight). Anyone have any experience with the interviews for these roles at FAANG?
If my manager is scheduling a 6:00 check in when he’s remote, is he doing it because that’s genuinely when he’s available or because he wants to make sure the team didn’t bounce early
For our Canadian friends, have you heard of Sparkrock? Culture/ wlb, type of rock, comp & benefits
I see a lot of people making more money when they exit. In my experience, I have yet to find a role that pays more for a similar level of responsibility in a similar location. Current M in T&O at $153k in the Midwest (not Chicago). Offers I’ve seen at the manager level in industry in similar midwestern cities at the manager level are typically between $110-130k with a 15-30% bonus. Any advice on finding an opportunity that will lead to a salary increase, even if it’s only a modest one?
For Google, how is the Global Solutions ladder (Global Product Lead role) compared to a Strategy and Operations role / ladder in terms of compensation and exit opportunities? I’d like to figure out which one to apply to, both seem to fit well with consultant skill sets.
I'm hiring for two roles in Detroit @ Campbell Ewald, media side. Paid Social Sr. Strategist and Prog/OLA Sr. Strategist. HMU for details if you or anyone you know is interested. Great client!
Hello everyone, as a Financial advisor I’m happy to announce that my agency is currently doing interviews for people that are looking to change their lives. I joined consulting from industry with a salary increase of 60% and in hope to work on interesting and challenging projects. It has been only 8 months. My old job was slow, bureaucratic and boring but I barely worked 7 hours a day. While I am happy that I am learning a lot, I am also pushing between 12 to 16 hours a day and working for a toxic client. I am worried I will burn out soon. How do you manage to stay in consulting for so long ?
Wife is looking to get back into consulting. Went to industry 3 years ago. Recommendations for healthcare groups with local/no travel model? Thanks! Chicago
What benefits, perks, and other work life balance things would you like your consulting firm to have in an ideal world?
Thinking of moving to LA for 1-2 months during this WFH time to try it out and see if I like it. Any recommendations on which websites to use to find short term furnished rentals in LA. I can only think of AirBnb at the moment. Thank You!
REFERRAL NEEDED! Hi All, I am looking for an urgent switch. Joined Wells Fargo in Sept'21 however the job role is not as per expectations and completely different as told during the interview. Starting a new job and rethinking my retirement contributions. So far have put between 7-10% of my salary into a 401k over the last two years, debating if a Roth IRA is something I should consider. New firm matches 3% to 401k, will be making 123k. Thoughts?
Hello, I have received an offer for 13 LPA as Fixed compensation. Can you please help me understand the monthly in hand salary?
Fishes, need an advice. SO and I have pre-tax salary of $180k. Cleared out all debt recently (education, marriage etc.).15% goes to regular 401k. Confused whether/not to buy dream home of $460k (with closing cost). Numbers at 3% rate and 10k down payment looks doable. Needs suggestion if we need to consider any other points. Buyer mkt in my area (NC) is crazy. Same home would have been 15k cheaper 2 months ago. Rising prices adds more concern to us. we are 1st time home buyers and both on H1Bs
Rookie question - i had a vanguard 401k with my old firm and now have a different one with my new firm. What happens to my old 401k? Does it get merged with my new one?? How does 401k’s work when u move from one firm to another
Considering switching as a 5th year from a small litigation practice to transactional role at a different firm. The new firm has stated there will be no litigation. 90% of my current work is cases which a partner is the primary attorney so they will have to figure it out if I leave (I’ll give proper notice). However, I have a small number (10-15) of active cases which are my own. What is the protocol for telling my clients I’m leaving and can’t take them with me?
Best big and mid size firms in Atlanta for real estate? When considering billable hours, comp, culture, etc. I’d appreciate hearing from anyone that generally likes their firm or has any recommendations on firms to stay away from. Considering making the move from a boutique firm as a 5th year lateral.
We are all having such a tough day over here. Kids are super emotional, hubby and I didn’t sleep well last night, and this whole Covid thing is sucking the life out of all of us. Hugs to all of you out there feeling the same way.
I'm happy in my role/salary, find it rewarding and the right work-life balance. My friends however, are talented and awesome so they've been rising up in their jobs and so, have a higher disposable income. When we go out especially on special occasions like trips/getaways, I'm starting to feel the pinch. They've been understanding and even give notice when it's a special occasion coming up where they want to splurge. If I don't go, it's fine but how do I spend time with them if everything is $$?
Wife and kid are going to be out of town for the next 2 weeks. Instead of wasting time, I’d like to do something productive. What would you do if you have say 3+ hours a day. Maybe self help, wealth creation type books, work out daily, take care of some things around the house.
What questions can you ask to assess the health and performance of a startup that’s offering you a role?
If you just got staffed on a project and it’s not what you expected or thought it would be, can you roll off without retaliation or a Scarlett letter for other managers? It’s been a month
EY is hiring for Managers and Sr Managers for 1. Transaction Diligence (FDD and stuff) 2. EYParthenon (CommercialDD, Strategy, Transactions) Happy to do a referral. Full disclosure I get a bonus if you accept an offer.
I have come to mind blowing conclusion that most work is not actually hard unless it’s a PhD level role, which then led to a question on why undergrad is so damn hard? Yes, I am the pikachu meme
I need advice on a late in life career pivot. I am spoiled - well-paid, but will never receive a raise above 1% or a decent bonus (I've hit the ceiling). My new boss is horrible, and 1/2 of the team left in the first year of her tenure. Staying is my last resort. My limitations: I need a high-level legal job (Assistant GC) in the LA area. I specialize in intellectual property law and global procurement. Do I hire someone to help with the search? The job boards have limited opportunties for me.
Even without covid, it seems like jobs are getting harder and harder to find. Why is this?
Anyone else concerned about the long term negative effects of working remotely? Seems to be a minority viewpoint, but I question whether this is sustainable post-Covid for personal, psychological, and profession-specific reasons.
Need help deciding on whether to take an offer...EM with 4 years post MBA experience. Offer is in Corp Dev with the following specs: 210 base 20% bonus 100k equity annualized Total $350k annualized comp Where does this land on the spectrum of exits on a scale of 1-5?
I’m in India and have 2 yrs of work experience. I want to do MBA (preferably in India) but can’t seem to crack any entrance exams. I’m just not good at it. I’m an intelligent person .. always top of my class. Any suggestions what I can do? I’m stuck in a rut with this job
