Anyone have insight into working in house at United healthcare? Culture, hours, comp, etc.
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
Hi Fishies, I got paid on a 1099 for one job and want to put it in a 401k fund to avoid paying taxes. When is the deadline to do that? End of 2019 or before end of financial year? TYSM!
Those who left US, what did you do with 401k when it’s most unlikely you return to work in the US again? Cashed out or rolled over to IRA (is it even possible to keep IRA even after moving abroad) ?
7% firm-provided profit share, plus 3% 401k match. Is this below/at/above average? Thoughts?
How do the benefits of a big 4 compare to benefits offering at the standard industry jobs that people leave a big 4 to take? I know this is a very general question and it varies a lot, but I’m curious what experience people have had
Are there any companies that provide generous student loan payback benefits. $100 a month from pwc is peanuts
Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!
Has anyone dealt with a spouse who absolutely does not want to leave their home state/where they grew up? We’re in southern CA, and though we could buy a 800k house and maybe up to 1.2mil in a few years, I want to buy something more affordable in a lower cost of living area and have a better quality of life. I want our son to have a backyard! We both have great jobs but I make significantly more money than he, and he says he will never move from his current job because they offer a pension. 😭😫
Leaving the firm and the country. What do I do with my 401k? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Don’t plan on returning to the US anytime soon and I’m in my late 20s.
I am 24 years old and the advice I have been given is to max out my IRA and 401k before investing into a taxable brokerage account. If I do not plan on working until I am 59 1/2, is this sound advice since there is a 10% penalty of early withdrawals for both accounts?
Has anyone left EY and submitted a wageworks reimbursement in their last two weeks that they got paid for?
Couple of us ex-consultants and now FANG guys/gals put together a guide of FANG perks to compare each other’s company benefits. If you’re curious I thought I’d share: http://perks.guide
What can you do for a client that wants to retire at 58 but has all her funds in 401K or IRA? Looked @ 72T but based on the highest of the 3 calculation methods it will only produce 1/2 income needed.
If I had a traditional IRA before being employed in a 401k eligible role, can / must I roll that IRA into the 401k or can I leave the accounts separate without deleterious tax consequences?
Leave a secure but underpaid, full time, toxic af job or go freelance and get the title bump at and indie agency? Healthcare etc scares the $hit out of me
Been doing a lot more 401k biz and want to eventually do that alone. Want to complement the 401k with group DI/group life. Is it possible with smaller companies? What about group life? Any experience?
Anyone have experience with 401k rollovers? Leaving Accenture for Deloitte and it seems like I need to rollover my 401k into an IRA with a brokerage account? Do I do this after I leave the company?
Interviewed at ZS, final round DAA position and haven’t heard back, its been a week now. I have heard that ZS extends offers fairly quickly to candidates. I’m assuming it’s a reject. Thoughts? ZS Associates
What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too
Does consultant level at Deloitte get variable comp? I joined after the Bonuses were given out and am curious about next year.

Time for a change, so what happens next? 4 years consulting. (commercial & federal), clearance, current salary low $60k. Not sure if it’s time to change firms or get out of consulting altogether?
Currently preparing for a shift to a startup, where I’ll initially be making less money than I do now in Big 4, but I believe in the mission, the founder, and the vision. Any advice for preparing for the leap?

How is the work and culture at AlixPartners?
Good news for everyone no matter where you are politically: New research indicates COVID immunity could last more than a year, especially after vaccination.
I’ve been helping a friend with her business and my god, I’m doing the job of client services- updates, reviews, recaps, notes, tracking information etc. - and the client is just constantly up my fuckin ass. I do not understand how people do this job. They’re the “I sent a text message to ask if you read my email type of people”. All praise to account people. I don’t know how you do this. I can’t wait to be back on the creative side of the world.
