Would you buy a really nice one bedroom/one bath with a w/d... or.... an ok two bedroom/one bath with no w/d in Arlington (can never add the w/d)? Single person, but looking for the best investment.

Get the place w the washer dryer. The class of neighborhood for a place w no w/d is auto lower

@AC1 I just like Arlington better than DC. Still city but suburban, can get to anywhere in the DMV area in under 20 minutes and can get to DCA in under 10 minutes.

Safety? LOL what is this, 1997? Us single girls do just fine living in DC 😂

likeuplifting

Get the w/d. I live in Arlington specifically because it’s easier to find apartments with dishwashers, w/d, etc, out here. If I wanted to give that up, I’d just move to DC.

“Location, location, location” is more important than size or amenities. Is one closer to Metro or in a better neighborhood or more walkable or better for commuting, etc?

like

Get the w/d only. That sounds like the most important to u if you have to ask.

like

All the Arlington comments are so Arlington, another reason to live in DC

like

What are you, a monster?

like

Neither, I would save more and buy a 2br with a w/d

like

@D1 Both right across the street from each other. Both have bus and their own shuttle to metro.

like

Why live in FARlington then you can have it all in DC?

like

I’m in a similar boat - choosing between Arlington and DC. DC has the nightlife and all the cool stuff to do but you can’t beat the safety of Arlington. Especially when you are a single girl living by yourself

like

Strategy&1 said that the folks saying we like having dishwashers and washer/dryers are “so Arlington,” whatever that means

like

1br

That’s good I’d buy 2b w/ w/d - it’s better resale

@SC2 Hmmm...good point.

You only live once, PWC1

Sorry for wanting to have clean dishes and underwear?

^^what?

I dunno, I like having a certain level of danger in my life. DC can provide whatever you can get in Arlington, it’ll just cost more. Plus, the people are more attractive.

Mark Bankston, the Sandy Hook parents’ lawyer in their case against the nuthead Alex Jones, impresses and inspires me.

According to his profile, he works with representing working people litigating employment matters, personal injury, corporate negligence and product defects.

I’m sure he goes to bed every night feeling he has done something good, and feels rewarded more than stressed.

I’m thinking I want to be like Mark.

But I wonder, how much do you think a lawyer like him makes?

Hi fishes. I am a fresher. Need to understand one thing. How does the buy out of notice period work? If an employee has a 90 day np but company decides to shave it to 60. So he will recieve salary for 60days and for the next 30 he won't recieve any salary . Is that correct? Or will the person not receive salary for the 30 days and will also have to pay a salary worth for 30 days.

About to graduate undergrad this year and moving into the city working in the downtown area. 2 questions: 1) Where do you recommend to live that will maximize $ spent (hoping not to spend a lot but also don’t want to not live comfortably), open to roommates and a studio 2) when should I get serious about looking for a place, hoping to start next September

There’s a man that always hangs in the lobby of my building and by the elevators. He frequently follows me and others into the building and is clearly on drugs.

Last night I ran into him by the elevators. It was a little unsettling so I called the front desk to escort him if he lived here. Based on their response, he clearly doesn’t live here nor am I the first person to call about him. He followed me into the bldg again today. Is there a way to keep him away besides just calling security?
