In the last 8 months Detroit has had:
* Apple open up a developer academy
* Ford + Google partner up to make a coding bootcamp for high schoolers
* Accenture opening up coding classes for high schoolers
* Amazon partnering with an existing bootcamp — grand circus— and fully funding it for qualified individuals

I am running into quite similar issues in almost all of the companies I have worked so far: Most of the senior engineers just exclude me in the important technical meetings whereas I am doing an important part (technical) of a project. They either think I am not knowledgeable enough for a particular task or just that I am good at doing some non-technical/manual task. I am the only female in the technical team and how do I address this issue & to whom? Thanks in advance!

Pro-tip: Do a search for the word “lead” in your resume. Make sure you didn’t mean “led”.

Hi everyone, I need help evaluate an offer for senior data scientist at a mid size corporate in SF (mainly focus on statistical modeling and data analysis, no MLE related tasks):
$175K base + 300K RSU, no bonus, fully remote. I’m currently working at a unicorn with $115K base + stock options (best case scenario if stock price increase 11x I’d get around $300K out of it before tax) + 15% annual bonus, in office 2-3 times a week.
