Would you drive a car that costs $135,000? If so, would it mainly be to show your success to your clients?

The only time I would drive a car like that would be if the company provided me that car, and I prefer to use that money on real estate. Other ways to show your success include customer retention, satisfaction, etc.

What do your clients/prospects drive? Don't outclass them.

like

Heck no. I can think of so many other things to spend that money on. I would never. But everyoe has their preferences of what they want to spend their money on.

like

Nope. I'm fine driving my mid-range vehicle. Luckily, my clients don't care too much about what my car looks like. But I do have to agree, it's a great startegy.

like

Nope. Aside from the fact that my budget is not enough, I won't spend that much even if I have the money.

Any ADs feel like they’re stepping on toes sometimes early in the ideation/pitch deck phase? I for sure defer on my partner when it comes to crafted copy for scripts, headlines, etc., but I feel like when it’s early on the idea is still an abstract thing living in my brain, and I should be able to do the write-up, or at least guide it. I feel like I’m getting boxed out of my own ideas because “that’s not my job.” Really bumming me out. How do you navigate this?

I had an interview with a growing company that reached out to me regarding a LC role at their company. The head of HR kept emphasizing that they saw my profile and that I’d be a great fit for the role. However, when I asked about the role in detail, I found out they had no legal team/any legal staff (for a company with hundreds of corporate employees and tens of thousands of contract staff). I then reiterated that I practiced in a very specialized area within employment (contd in comments)

Additional Posts in Sales

Hey everyone! I need some advice. I’ve accepted an offer for a new job, but I’m in a bit of a rush to get out of the position I’m working right now. I start the new job July 18. My job now doesn’t care about their employees, and it’s a health risk for my family and I due to unsafe COVID policies (i.e. forcing you to come in even if you’re sick, making you use PTO for COVID even if working from home, etc). Is there anything short term I can do until July? Or should I stay until then?

Commission plan discussion:
I was promoted to Director of Sales and am tasked with revamping our sales commission plans

We are in a high margin industry, the majority of the team’s sales are transactional, so they are quick closes, and they have a base around 60k

Current plan is: 3, 5, 6, and 8% of revenue depending on different factors

I am thinking of streamlining to make everything 10%. (5% paid upfront when they land the sale, 5% paid once invoiced).

Thoughts? Things to consider?

Hi everyone, I’m an enterprise Account Manager at the moment managing renewals and upsells. For the past couple of months I’ve been considering becoming an Account executive on new biz. Would love to hear from others what your experience has been in these roles and which one you prefer, especially anyone who has done both. I’d like to hear everything, The good, the bad, and ugly, to help me make the best decision.
