If I was out of work, yes. Just to get that paycheck. But I wouldn’t stop looking for another job, and I’d leave the toxic place as soon as I could.
Glassdoor don't lie man. if there are a shit ton of negative reviews, they are there for a reason. the only exception is around layoffs, but even then it's pretty easy to pick out the legit from the bs. worth reading in depth to identify themes.
If you are thick skinned and they pay you well. Otherwise, nope.
I accepted a job that raised red flags during the interview process but I was struggling financially due to my SO’s health issues.
It was $14,000 more than what I was making and there were no Glassdoor reviews. I went against my instinct and lasted 8 months there. I was ousted by very jealous individuals working there.
I was unemployed for a month and took the time to write a brutal but honest Glassdoor review. I went from being the first review to the company having 9 reviews in the last year and a half and the agency is sitting at 1.8 stars.
Moral of the story? Don’t ignore when your instinct and Glassdoor are telling you this is bad. I’m sorry you’re unemployed, but it’d be better you end up somewhere worth your time instead of work a few weeks or months only to have to go through the job process again.
I recently did that. I lasted two weeks.
Always trust your gut

If that paycheck is thicc, I’d think about it.
I feel like agency work is only as good as your client will let it be, so don’t see Havas itself being the problem. Can put the coolest thing ever forward and it will get shaved down to an old man staring at the clouds. Can’t fix stupid/scared
Usually the conditions are that you need money and have no job offers, and they are offering you a job that pays money. With any luck you wont have to stay too long. Sorry, its a bummer—but Im sure you tried places you liked first.
Glassdoor isn’t always true. Often bitter ex employees post there.
Same with bitter ex-employees.
Bills have to be paid, food has to be bought, and cloths need to be worn. There’s your motivation. First, you put your life in a good situation than you can start hunting around.
Cash rules everything around me CREAM get the money... Dolla dolla bills yall
Currently out of work and seriously contemplating the opportunity. Worried about selling my soul, etc.
I did last year, I was unemployed at the time I accepted, lasted 2 months before I walked out on them with nothing lined up (I was trying to line something up but, it was really tough since my boss and the owners were extremely controlling) when I simply couldn’t handle the abuse anymore. Thankfully, I was able to land something a month after I walked out. So, take it if you have no other options and need the money but, know that if you do, be prepared to get out, next job lined up or not. In my case, the experience helped me grow emotionally and work out some baggage I hadn’t dealt with.
Think about it. But, before you decide, reach out to people that actually work there. But, they’re lying if they say it’s good. So run.
I did, and it worked out. In my case I vowed never to work at this place because of Glassdoor and people’s feedback from years past. Then my old boss and a bunch of my favorite old coworkers from various place were there... I’m pretty happy in my decision.
That’s not to say those aren’t special circumstances, but you can ask any question you want in an interview and get the vibe from the people you’re talking with.
I did and was laid off after four months because I clashed so hard with the bullshit culture. I didn’t have a choice because I have a kid and need to feed him and give him healthcare. If you can possibly afford to avoid it I would avoid it.
I did but I ultimately bought the dream they sold me. I’m much happier at my new company (not HZ) despite having a much larger and challenging workload.
Flat out ask them in interview about Glassdoor. They know. Have there been mgmt changes since they were posted? Is it a single bad post or is it a trend of many? I give a grain of salt to few/single reviews - I know of a head case that left a scathing review... but he was the one needing serious help.
If your instinct is that it’s toxic, is it bc of the reviews or no affect from the reviews? If it’s the second, then you should consider before accepting because a toxic work environment can do real damage to you beyond just at work. Depends if you are willing to sacrifice that and the potential to want to jump ship shortly after starting. Jumping shortly after starting would mean that the $ doesn’t sustain that long anyway. So depends on you, but if that’s the case might be best to consider other places and weigh pros and cons from all options.
I called it out in the interview. They liked the brutal honesty and gave me more than market value. My job? Do the work... AND fix the culture anyway. How's it going? Fantastic. Agency wants to hire more of my friends and now we have an amazing culture.
This is awesome
