As you get older, no one cares or remember it’s your birthday…not even you. It’s just another day.
The only exception is maybe when you reach like 90 or 100 when people celebrate you having lived so long.
I don’t even share my birthday or want it recognized. Recognize me because you organically want to, not because someone emailed you an E-card to sign.

Unless we had something specific planned like a party or a dinner that they flaked on, I wouldn’t care or notice. We all have so much going on in our lives, it’s hard to keep track of other people’s birthdays.

Only if we had plans. But some people do make a big deal of their bday and expect the world to do the same. Luckily none of those people are my friends but I do know of some people who will have a fit if they are not acknowledged on bday. If you are or have friends like that then it’s best to set the expectation early but also realize bdays don’t hold the same weight for everyone.
Every person I know appreciates the birthday recognition! Not a big hoopla but just an acknowledgment, even a text. A small gift is nice too but that’s what I like to do. Wouldn’t expect everyone to do that.
We’re all busy, give us a break. I am barely aware of the date on any given day so even if I know someone’s birthday, I need to be aware of the date on that day.

I love birthdays and always reach out and vice versa! I did remind someone that it was my birthday this year. Next year, I’ll tell them happy birthday but no gift. 😐

Idk if mad is the right word but a bit peeved if I've told them before, yes. If you add someone's bday to your contact for them your phone will literally suggest to tell them happy bday....it ain't hard
