Would you go work for a private company that offers a lot of growth opportunities, high salary and 40-45 hour work weeks, but doesn’t allow WFH and is pretty strict on the 8-5?

Hey hey ho ho companies that don't work from home have got to go!

likefunny

Nope. Hybrid ok. But no WFH ever? Next!

like

No, it shows they have no idea how to adapt.

like

Nope! I love the flexibility of my schedule and will not work for any company ever again that says they don’t allow WFH

like

no - having autonomy is worth 25% of my salary.

Currently in the same situation with an offer from a company like that. Lack of wfh is literally the only thing making me hesitate from accepting it

like

Yup that’s the boat I’m in. I’m fine having some structure but not being able to at all is pilot opposites of what I’m use to.

after coming from public accounting and having such autonomy over my schedule, I made a pivot like this to industry. I quit 8 months in with nothing lined up. I was miserable. so thankful I found a job that paid even more with great ops and complete flexibility.

like

I could handle going to an office location daily, but I wouldn’t do a strict schedule. You’ll get your time from me, but I have to balance that with other appointments and obligations.

like

No

No.

If you are manager+ level, I think you will have some flexibility regardless how strict the company is. At the lower levels, yes I agree it’s a problem.

yeah

How bad does it look to prospective employers to change jobs every 3 years? I've done this since college (12 years ago) and have tripled my salary as a result. Granted, I've switched between the same two companies each time, getting a big pay bump in the process. Now, the other company is looking at bringing me back again (3rd time). The pay bump won't be as big, but much better WLB, less travel, and I'll be able to do what I love. Opinions on this?

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
