Tips on negotiating an offer? It’s much lower than what I want (would like to ask for at least matching my current base salary) + no signing or relocation bonus, which I would like Do I just ask for each thing I want individually? Never done this before!
Started a new job like 3 months ago. It seemed like a good opportunity but I kind of hate it. Someone reached out for pretty much a dream job so I have an interview today. What do I say when asked why would you leave after only being at your job for a couple of months?
There is an uncanny amount of activity on this bowl right now. Are you folks proactively looking to get out of consulting due to COVID-19’s impacts on the consulting industry?
What applications does Accenture use? I’m guessing Microsoft Teams, Excel, Pwpt? Or is Zoom also in that?
Very thankful to have a week each month remote on my project. Let's be real, we don't need to be on the client site every week.
NYC UI: I applied 3/9 and claimed weekly benefits every week while pending. My claim was approved 5/13 (with a crazy low of $182/wk). The NY Labor system now says I haven’t claimed my weekly benefits since I applied. Beyond frustrating.
What are project manager roles at FAANG like? Is the work exciting? Is comp similar to other positions. Thank you in advance for your insights.
What are best consulting firms that emphasize work life balance and personal development (e.g not working most weekends, not working 80+ hrs/week, LOA opportunities, coworkers with interests beyond $)
What would you all say are the best consulting firms to work at in the federal government space? I’m not sure how many “prestigious” firms (like MBB) have a significant federal practice at all.
For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2
If my client expressed great appreciation to my work, can I ask for tips? Maybe we should normalize the tipping culture across all service areas. Just a random thought
Personal finance question - where should my money go first? 401k - half the limit Mortgage - 2.8% 3 months expense cash - want at least 8 Buy a car - lease is ending Furnish empty house
I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now
Anyone else have a personal and/or work space that’s just absolute chaos? I haven’t managed to keep my bedroom/office clean for more than 1 day since COVID (granted it was also messy in the before times). Every surface is covered in laundry / dishes / papers / tech / cosmetics. God forbid my webcam ever shifted from it’s usual position and revealed my quarters to my coworkers (or clients!) Pls tell me I’m not alone in being a fairly well-adjusted adult with the bedroom of a teenager :|
I am seeing a lot of people in my network leaving Deloitte recently… a lot in SM / PPMD cohort. Looks like ACN and PWC are really on huge hiring spree….
What are some signs to help evaluate the actual WLB at a company? Seems harder now that everything is remote
