Would you leave consulting to become a senior financial analyst at a tech company - is that a bad exit ?

Hi Everyone, I'm a refugee in the U.S. Work permit granted by the Gov. Have extensive (non-tech) work experience in my country. Is it possible to relaunch my career even with an entry-level job? Possible obstacles and solutions to overcome?

Has anyone who's worked in HR, Finance, or another role with visibility to compensation information been able to use that as leverage for salary negotiations?

To put it bluntly, I know certain people with less experience and a lower performance rating are getting paid more than me due to my role working with payroll data. I suspect this was due to the fact that I did not counter offer when I accepted this role, which was a few months ago, and now I regret it.

Got a job offer with a lower base salary but a guaranteed bonus structure that puts me ahead of my current pay at the end of each year. Has anyone moved to a position with a compensation structure like this? Was it hard to adjust when it came to your monthly finances?

3rd year associate. Former fed law clerk. Working at ID firm. Doing slip and falls and wrecks. Recently received big law offer to do products. Really want to go. Gave notice to current firm. Current firm really wants me to stay, counters that it will try to get me salary as close to big law offer and give me complex work. Stay at ID firm or accept big law offer?

Left McKinsey for a Fintech corporate last year. Really disappointed to see bonuses given out (cash is equivalent to half month salary, equity vested over 5 yes also not great) after getting the 5/5 rating and business doing well overall. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?
