I’d leave if they tried to make me come back 5 days per week, Covid or no Covid

At the peak of Covid? Def would not go back. When things are back to “normal”? Yeah 1-2 days a week in the office is fine for me

I'm not working for any company that still forces people being in the office. Especially if you never have to be there.

Yes I did that. Found a new 100% remote one and got a salary bump and promotion ✅

Yes, I have a child too young to get vaccinated and he is not about to get covid from me bc of “office culture”

Yes! I recently turned down a job offer in house that included a significant salary bump because they wanted me on site 3 days/week. Instead, I took the offer to my current employer and they matched the salary. Was really a win win for me because I wouldn’t have left my permanent WFH situation regardless. Ultimately I think businesses that keep up with the preference for WFH are going to thrive in this “new normal” and the ones that force employees back in office will find themselves understaffed without any prospects.

Update: went in today to see how they'd manage being in the office. As expected, nobody is wearing masks despite mandates, and are cramming into tiny office rooms. No social distancing to be seen. Does anyone have any advice on what I should write in my email to my manager?

like

Put it all in writing and ask them to detail what steps they are taking to ensure safety and following state mandates. Should back them off of you.

100%. I've already had COVID once (at the very start of the pandemic) and I'm not about to catch it again, even after being vaxxed. I can do all my work from home and am more productive here, anyway.

Don’t know why, but I am not feeling afraid of getting laid off. And also I don’t feel like pushing to get another job in case that happens. I am fed up with this visa nonsense, the corporate slavery they have in name of H1B. And also this whole world in turmoil due to covid has left me thinking what better i could do to add value to the society. Adding to the agony of American dream is the civil unrest in US, trump again for 4 years, more guns, absurdity of USCIS etc.

Good Evening My Fellow Christian Educators! I realize it is going to be challenging for me this year...with so many of my students performing below grade level expectations in ELA and MATH and also ensuring that all students follow the COVID Guidelines in the classroom. I still feel hopeful that God will bless me with the knowledge on how to effectively impact each one of those kids. Let's remember to keep all educators lifted in prayer this year. Have a wonderful school year!! God Bless All❤️

As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Firm leadership says here I have potential to be a partner in 8 years and talk about all the leadership support I have rn which is fair. Is this one of their tactics to make me stay or should I just leave…
