I keep thinking about moving to a state with lower taxes (we have offices) plus the idea of no snow... it keeps getting more enticing, especially now that I’m very much single
I’ve been WFH in Miami for the last 9 months and have to say it will be tough to move back to NYC whenever we finally go back to the office. Quality of life here is so much better. No city/state tax is great too.
That won’t be a problem
No. Go away. We’re full 🤣😂
Depends on how it would affect career progression. If the whole office incl. big dogs move yes, if not and FL will just be a small satellite office no.
Depends on where in Florida. I’d do Miami in a heartbeat, but don’t think I’d take ST Petersburg
What’s wrong with St Petersburg ?
Miami, yes. Palm Beach, maybe. Tampa, prolly not. All else no.
So does Miami. Highly doubt if someone is looking to relocate to FL they’re gonna pick Tampa over Miami unless they’re like 40 with a family. Sorry man, Tampa ain’t gonna be more than a 3rd rate city at best.
Pro
Absolutely not, I have no family down there and the public school systems aren’t as good as where I live now. So wouldn’t move there for any job
Pro
Still wouldn’t have family down there, so would still be a no go for me
Yes
Depends where in Florida. Coastal, yes. Inland, no
I on a recent visit to Florida, I saw a man wearing a “Garth” Vader shirt (yes, Garth not Darth), jean shorts, strap on tennis shoes, and a captains hat.
So it depends on where in FL, but probably yes. That dude was a Golden God.
Waiting for Kenny G to invite me to the makeshift Palm Beach office at the Four Seasons
I've been actively lobbying for it since we are considering relocating for tax purposes
Yes
Where in FL
Pro
TBD
South Florida (either east or west) is awesome but living anywhere else (i.e. Jax, Tallahassee, mid/central FL) will make you want to kill yourself
Absolutely, would even take a pay cut for it
Yes. Sign me up. Better yet take me with you 🥳

Interesting responses as many banks and pe shops are increasingly interested in this as an option in the future. I just switched buyside and like many firms I believe they are thinking about expanding so I’m curious what everyone is thinking. Especially if many of these firms are headquartered in NYC (at least for now)
If I liked the area, yes.
