This pay is good. However, in a couple of months, it’s just another pay day. You don’t see a difference.. your lifestyle adapts to the new pay. You will never feel like you are making enough..
All that matters is your happiness and your family’s well being. If you feel your family is not safe there, it’s not.
Don’t let short term money make an irreversible impact to your kids.
Just my views.
Within the last 1 year, I went from 150 to 400k TC. Am I happier? Don’t think so. Still the same. Pay check to pay check. My expenses increased.
I kept same lifestyle as before. My savings skyrocketed.
Eyyyyy sounds like thunder bay. I’d do it - just fly in and out on weekends and leave your family in a multi cultural suburb. They’ll hate you when they’re older for all the missed events but love the financial and generational stability you’ll be able to provide

Bruh for $650k/year I'd move to the surface of the sun
Update - I’m not going to take it. Decided I’d probably get something just as good in a city I want to raise my kids in.
👏
Name the town
Are you talking a shithole town like it’s small and there not much to do (e.g. Buffalo, NY), or a large city with a crime problem like a Baltimore?
On behalf of Buffalo, NY, go fuck yaself SM1
$650k/year !! What role and field/organization?
Yes, get that money now
you're already in Toronto sooooooo
Jk, how much time will you have to travel home? You'll have enough money to fly every weekend if you want/need to
For 2-3 yrs, I’d do it, but 5 is quite a while. Life is short and you can’t put a price on your happiness, so potentially giving that up for 5 years isn’t worth it IMO.
What’s your SO’s thoughts?
If it’s short term, maybe don’t move your family with you. Why disrupt SO and kids lives for a couple of years? Can you yep hybrid / remote?
Yes
I’d do this. Why do you have to stay for 5 years? Equity?
Thats a lot of money to turn down !
If you don’t take it dm the company so I can apply!
What is the alternative if you stay in Toronto?
Chief
Brb I’m moving there myself
Personally no, but your priorities and life situation may not be the same.
At this point in my life, you couldn't pay me to move to the suburbs even!
They pay that much for a reason
Yes.
Define shithole?
Also, what is your COL vs. Income?
