From a manager standpoint, it depends. I like to open when I have admin stuff to do. But I like to close or work mid shift because I can see to a lot more things operationally. Make sure staff and guests are good and spot check to make sure things are running smoothly
I prefer opening because it’s usually more regulars and not one time guests or out for a special occasion, who are always just the worst and have ungodly high expectations. I love my regulars because they come in chill and aren’t as high maintenance.
Open!
Definitely Open When You Close It Can Get Hard To Balance Your Time To Spend During The Day
I prefer the opening one, it is easier to open than to close. 1. Clients always show up at the last minute.
2. I don't feel comfortable closing.
Opening, for sure! It's always the chill regulars. Plus, it's way easier to go through the routine of getting things running than try to fix whatever unexpected disasters popped up throughout the day in a closing shift.
closing because it gets super slow and is more busywork
For my job and life it was easier for me to request and stay as a closer. I'm more of a night person anyway.
