5 years ago #2. Since then my priorities have changed. Def #1 now. Low pressure so I can enjoy my life and spend time with family and friends. Different strokes for different folks. Just my priority now.
I’ll admit it isn’t sexy BUT I’m pretty good about finding impactful and high profile barrier breaking firm initiatives and frankly I enjoy this more bc it comes without the pressure of client input. And at the end of the day a job is just something that pays the bills so why make it more stressful than it has to be? I know I have a different outlook than many.
Reality: long term (>1 yr) staff aug barn burner project
Lol so true. Funny how that works 🙃
Also I tend to find interesting PD/BD work to do as a firm initiative to balance the mundane project work
Number 1. Utilization with no pressure and time to sell work at other clients is how you get ahead, not doing exciting work.
Interesting is not life-changing. so 1.
Barn burner. No question.
2, nothing really wrong with 1 though. I sometimes get stir crazy being on the same project for too long.
Is there any issue with staff aug if you’re at a company you’d work for? Like top tech? I see these as great opportunities to see if you’d actually want to work there.
